A great value. I had priced the composite boards to make my own. It would of cost alot more to buy all the materials than to buy this kit. Only thing is that it is 42" x 42". So to make it larger, I just put 2 together. Worked out perfectly. I bought 16 so far and will be ordering more. You can see 7 in this picture. Each one uses 3 1/2 bags of the 40 pound bags of topsoil. Best thing is they will never rot! Only takes 5 minutes to put together.

Great price and shipping was fast! I have been buying these every year to extend my husband's vegetable garden and this year to make a flower bed in memory of my Mom who passed away August 11, 2015. I am enjoying watching the flowers grow. You can not beat the price and they work just as well as more expensive ones!

I had already bought 4 of these from another retailer and needed two more. I found these in stock at Walmart, placed the order online and picked them up a couple of days later. They are so easy to put together, it only takes 5 minutes. I stacked one on top of another to have three 12 inches deep beds. I filled them with a mixture of half potting soil and half cow manure compost that I purchased in the 1 cubic foot size bags. I have planted a concord grape vine, blackberry vine, strawberries, 2 kinds of pepper plants, squash, zucchini, cucumbers and cantaloupe. With the rich soil and easily controled watering, the plants took off right away and are so healthy. I can't get over how fast they are growing. This is definitely the way to produce the most vegetables in the smallest area. I plan to cover them this winter to keep out weeds and next year, I will only have to add a bag of cow manure compost to each bed. It takes 12 bags to fill the double containers like I made and half that for the single one. If you chose to garden in raised beds, you definitely need to purchase the cow manure compost. The product is very neat looking in appearance when assembled and is sturdy enough to last for years.

Last year I bought a tomato plant from walmart and it thrived till the very end. So this year I decided I wanted more. I have very little space in my 20x15 ft back patio area. This is very easy to put together and seems like it is going to last for a while. I can't wait until my plants start to produce.

    • A. We stacked our 2 sets - we purchased 4 hinges with about 4 screws on each side hinge sides (a total lf 8 screws each hinge) for holding planks together. They are hinged in the middle - so far so good. They hold more soil and stack higher - but really - 8 inches is not that high! However shopping around - these are competitively priced.

    • A. YES, I just bought "mending plates" at Walmart too, they cost 1.59 for a pack of 4. Stacked the garden beds, screwed the plates in and I was good to go. This is one the of nicest raised garden beds I have found and for a great price too. : )

    • A. Yes. I bought 6 of them and stacked one on top of another to have three 12 inch beds. You really need that much depth if you plan to plant things like tomatoes. They are really easy to stack and they stay in place after you fill them.

    • A. I bought four of these kits. Two came with connectors that allowed you to stack them. I will mention that in our hot climate that a couple of the sides are a bit pushed outward from the soil inside. They are only one deep. Look at the box to make sure you have the set that come with the two 'story' connectors.

    • A. I've spent a couple weeks researching these kits. The short answer is not with what is included when you buy this kit from Walmart. The long answer is that if you go to the manufacturers site ( greenlandgardener.com ) has the 3 way connector brackets that should allow you to connect 2 gardens. Their site has a 42" x 84" x 8" garden that seems to be essentially 2 gardens connected with the exception being that the latter garden is 8" deep.

    • A. Dear Pambh, unfortunately, it does not appear that you can attached the boards to this specific bed lengthwise. The reason is because the corner 'attachers' are designed to only accompany boards placed at square angles. I'd love to see a longer, thinner bed offered as well! Perhaps a 4 ft long by 2 ft. wide, or even a bit longer! They would have to design the bed corner attachers differently for this. Hope this helps.

    • A. I don't think so. The corner connectors are shaped to make a right angle. Unless you can figure out some way to connect them to make them double the sides??? Or you could just put them very close together.

    • A. They are 4 x 4 ft, the width and length are both 4 ft. If you are asking if they could be made bigger by getting another one to connect to it, the answer is no. The only way you can add another one to it is by stacking another just like it on top and making it deeper. A single one is 6 inches deep.
