Customer reviews & ratings
I originally purchased 60W GV LED soft white light bulbs to replace 60W incandescent bulbs in my ceiling fan, but the light was just too bright for a bedroom (http://www.walmart.com/ip/Great-Value-GVRLAO1027D-Great-Value-LED-10W-Soft-White-A19-Dimmable-Light-Bulb/38591217). So I purchased these 40W bulbs and they perfectly replicate the output of light produced by the three 60W incandescent ceiling fan bulbs! A more natural and much less harsh lighting than CFL bulbs (that I had to replace every 6 to 8 weeks). I'm so glad GV offers this more affordable LED bulb option. I purchased ONE bulb at a big name hardware store for over $15! Now I feel like I'm helping my wallet as well as the environment!
Great 40W Bulbs (UNLIKE the 60W Vers)
In a nutshell: a GREAT 40W bulb. If you don't need dimming, this is the one to get (Great Value 40W 2700k). Only uses 5W, and gives a lot of light from those 5W! And UNLIKE the newer 60W versions (60W 2700k Non-Dim) -- which have a small but constant BUZZ that I can't stand -- the 40W version is totally silent. If you want a good DIMMABLE 40W version, the dimmable version of this bulb is only so-so. A much better choice would be the Feit 7.3W 40W equivalent (goggle it -- get the 7.3W one). They're a bit more but absolutely worth it (never seen a better evenly-dimming bulb with a CRI of 92 and great dimming). But if you don't need dimming and just want a good, solid 40W bulb, this Great Value 40W bulb is the one to get. And unlike the 60W version of the bulb (which buzzes) the 40W version is totally silent. I have about a dozen of them, and they all work great. Hope this helps.
very good bulbs
I've slowly been replacing my old style bulbs...these work very well & last longer than the older kind
Great 40W replacement
I was shocked how well these looked when I turned them on. The color temperature and light output were almost identical to an incandescent. I will be buying more of these to replace other bulbs very soon.
