Very good bass. Meaning that if you live in an apartment or condo, your neighbors may complain if you play this thing above 70 or 80%. Excellent sound to fill a large 20 x 20 room. Very clear sound even at 20%. I never really used Google assistant but now that it is always on stand-by, I use it a lot more. Very easy set-up through Google home app. I paid full price, I just hope Google doesn't drop the price later as they did for other home products. I paid 4 bills for it, it would probably sell much better for 3. But it is a great quality product, the box is so nice, I don't think I will be throwing it away ; ) I just hope this thing continues to play when I return to Canada in April as it is restricting Canadian IP's right now. I hope this will go away in a couple of months when sales start north of the border. Apart from Sonos 5 ( $100 more ), no other better sounding speaker out there in my opinion.

Google Epic Fail
Huge flaw: YOU CANT PLAY YOUTUBE APP CONTENT ON THIS SPEAKER. How is this possible? Both are made by Google. Returning it asap. Come on Google, you're better than this.

very good speaker and remember for the price it does have google assistant. i love the sound ! fills up my whole house. this is 400 now though i got it when it was 350...im not sure i would pay 400 for one.. just wait for a sale

Great sound. Google assistant works fast

Good

Loud enough for an outdoor party or a large room. IMO the sound is no better quality than the Google Home speaker. If the Google Home Speaker meets your needs it will be preferable because it is smaller, lighter, and omnidirectional.

Great sound, but not perfect

Great, room filling sound. Especially nice as a pair (I splurged and got two). However, the microphones are sometimes hard of hearing. Also, as a pair, only the left speaker's microphone is active, which isn't ideal for my room setup.

Works as advertised.

Like all the Google Assistance, this works fine. Was hoping the fidelity would be a little better, but not bad.

Google Home Max

Sound quality

Fun smart speaker

It's fun to have a smart speaker but the sound isn't as crisp as I had hoped. The bass bumps and the sound filled my large living room but my Bose sounds a lot better.

The sound is very bass heavy, more than I want from a sound system.

Google Epic Fail

1. This unit plugs into your wall. It is not meant to be portable. It also requires a constant wi-fi connecton, so it can't really go anywhere.
by porter
2. No, this unit must be connected to a wall outlet and it comes with a power cord.

1. The only difference between the two is the sound quality. If you are just looking for a smart speaker, your money would probably be better spent on the Mini, but if you are looking for a speaker that will have incredible sound quality, then the Max will do it
