Good Stuff!
This is our 2nd gallon of Glidden Ceiling Paint. It goes on easily (particularly appreciated if you have used thinner paints on ceiling surfaces in the past!) It's thick and adheres easily. We had had a plumbing leak on the second floor and it stained a section of the ceiling in our 1st floor guest bedroom. We used Glidden High Endurance Plus Ceiling Paint and were prepared to have to paint the entire ceiling. We lucked out! It matched perfectly and we only had to paint the affected area. It goes on pink (dries to pure white) so that you never have to guess whether you have covered an area or not. Good stuff!

Pink spots
DO NOT BUY!! If you are planning to use in bathroom or anywhere that might get moisture on it. It turns pink again even after curing anytime a shower is taken! Now I have pink spots from where the moisture accumulated! After reading other reviews I'm not sure how to even correct it! Definitely should not be recommended or even sold for bathrooms or kitchens!

The paint went on smoothly, and after it had dried, there were no roller/paint brush marks. The pink helped me to see spots I was missing AS I was painting (the previous ceiling was white). If you are painting a large ceiling and doing it in rows, by the time you have finished a row and go back to the the beginning to start a second row, the pink in the previous row might have disappeared because it has dried or dried enough that the pink has disappeared. It was also a pleasant shade of white--not a bright white but not dull either. It did not spatter either; my eyeglasses proved it!

Love using this stuff ... just sayin'

Worked with an older stipple ceiling, doing one room at a time. The aged stipple was unstable and some popcorn would free-up and fall when touched. I found Glidden's primer called Gripper, stabilized the surface and gave me a nice white pallet to work with. I finished the ceilings with one coat of this ceiling paint and love the completed job. The pink color helped me define the work area that was left (or if I missed a spot). I used a roller for the larger areas but did cut-in with a brush. The product has the viscosity of a rich batter as opposed to other ceiling paint I've used that was as watery as a soup... In two of my bathrooms, I didn't even use a drop cloth. Spatter was not an issue, nor was clean up for equipment used. And just a note, a previous review cited that the pink came back when moisture in the bath re-activated it... this was not the case in either of my bathrooms. Love using this product.

Ceiling Paint

I have used this paint before and loved the convenience. It provides a good cover and with the pink colorant, it is easy to see if you missed any area of the ceiling. Even provides great coverage over a 'popcorn' ceiling texture.
Went on pink making it easy to tell where I painted. Good 1 coat coverage over the discolored white ceiling. Dried white!

Stinky Paint

The smell of the paint is unbearable. It was applied at 9:00 a.m. It is now 10:00 p.m., and we can still smell a strong odor. The coverage is good, but the smell is awful. I do not recommend this paint.
Hi jdray, we are sorry about the smell. That's just because of the volatile organic compounds. It happens even if stored properly. It can smell like bad milk, urine, vomit, anything rancid - it all depends on what is growing in there. The smell will go away with time but if you want, leave a bowl of vinegar out, scented candles, odor removers, baking soda, anything you can think of to absorb the smell. Thank you!

Pink spots

Hi there E, this does not sound right. Perhaps the store did not mix it right. Maybe you can return it, change colors, as well as find a primer.

Don't buy

We had to do 3 coats to get coverage wothout streaks. Waste of money. I could have bought the good stuff if I had know it would take that much paint.
Hey there, we're sorry to hear you had trouble with the coverage of the paint. Sometimes, the paint may need to be stirred thoroughly before application. To assist you further you can give us a call at 1-800-GLIDDEN.

Do not recommend for bathrooms

I used this ceiling paint so I could see where I have painted and after I painted the whole bathroom I let it set till it turned white. As soon as we turn on the shower it turns pink again! it's been two weeks since we painted and still turning pink. I call 1800-GLIDDEN and they told me to wait another two weeks to see if the problem continues and to use a fan in the room and shorten the shower time. Also not to paint on top of it because it will re-wetten the paint and continue to turn pink. We will see in two weeks If this situation continues to happen. As of now I am not happy with this product and would not recommend it.

Horrible fumes caused severe headache immediately!

Horrible product! The smell was so bad I had a severe headache within minutes from it! I used it over a popcorn ceiling with a thick professional roller. The ceiling texture started falling off and the pink would turn white before I got my roller refilled! For an interior paint there should not be the horrible smelling fumes! I would never refer this to anyone. Please change this product. It cant be safe for humans.
Hi there, We're sorry you experienced a headache from painting your ceiling. When undergoing a painting project, make sure you are getting proper ventilation in your space so you are getting proper air circulation, and so your paint can properly dry. For further assistance, please call our customer care team at 1-800-GLIDDEN between 8am-5pm EST.

1. I want to say mine dried fairly quickly. I didn't keep that close a track; at least it looked totally dry after maybe an hour or less. I didn't poke at it to find out. I don't know that I would tighten up light fixtures, for instance, until the next day. If you are asking because of the pink disappearing as it dries, it did disappear quicker than I would have liked on this weird shaped larger piece of ceiling I painted. By the time you get to the end of a row and go back to the beginning to start the next row, the pink might have disappeared. My ceiling had a patchy appearance as the pink disappeared; it didn't dry evenly so that I had a definite pink edge. It did work great on smaller ceiling areas. When I do my living room, I will do my rows across the shorter side of the room so that it has less chance of the pink disappearing before I paint the next row.

2. The product dries to touch in about 30 minutes, and is suitable for recoat after 2 hours. Full cure on latex paint products would range from 14 to 30 days.

1. I just used it to paint a popcorn textured ceiling about a week ago. It worked great, but I offer this note - If you are using a roller to apply this paint, make sure that the nap is at least 3/4 inch.
