I used this container to heat rice in the microwave for 2 minutes. When I took the container out of the microwave the plastic bottom had melted through in several spots. There are three large holes at the bottom of the container now. The packaging states that this product is microwave safe, but that is false. I am lucky that I did not have this container in the microwave any longer than the 2 minutes.

I have over 100 of these and use them in the home for food storage, and warming. In my shop they are used for parts of all types to make it easy to find and plan to get a lot more of them.

We use them to store all kinds of food and other stuff. They work great for cutting up the watermelon and harvesting tomatoes.

  • A. They do seal tight, however, having been in the food industry for over 20 years. I do recommend storing frozen meats in a freezer ziplock bag and/or double wrapped good quality plastic wrap while removing as much possible air out of bag/wrap, THEN store it in container. The more air you leave around your food, the faster you will have freezer burns caused by freezer's dehumidifier extracting humidity out of freezer. (ever notice ice cubes shrinking?)

  • A. They seal tight if you secure the lids completely.

  • A. The seals are very tight. I put soups in them and you can tip the container and it never leaks. I wouldn't try to fip them over completely thought. I have brined chicken breasts for a few days in these and I never need to worry about leaks. Just don't microwave these containers because hot spots can make weak areas. I once did that and had beets in a container. There was a pinhole that leaked beet juice all over my refrigerator.

  • A. I would say yes- though it is important to have the least amount of air possible in the container. They seal pretty good. If there is a good amount of air- I would wrap in a layer of plastic wrap and then put it in.
