You can take action before anyone reads his dog id tags, before his dog microchip is scanned, before he gets into trouble. You will immediately have his precise location information and directions to his location. On the path to retrieve your dog or your cat, the Gibi app acts like a GPS navigator for a car, taking you from where you are to where your pet is.

Sure, other tracking devices, and pet tracker and GPS locator services, exist. But Gibi Technologies found all of them lacking in one way or another. Gibi fixes those shortcomings by being waterproof; lightweight; designed to withstand rough-and-tumble dog play; sleek to fit most standard dog collars and harnesses; accurate, using GPS data to pinpoint the location of your lost dogs or lost cats; easy to use, thanks to the provided directions to the pet’s location, not unlike a car GPS navigator; and immediate because you can quickly locate your lost pet to eliminate the wait and worry.

It also has a sleep mode for longer battery life and for when your pet travels in cargo. A low battery alert reminds you to charge it. A full charged alert reminds you to put your pet’s Gibi back on his collar or harness.

A dog microchip or cat microchip is a good thing. It’s permanent and helps pets taken to shelters or veterinary offices where they use a microchip lookup service to find your information. But Gibi comes to the rescue before that even happens. Dog tags for pets are good, too. But Gibi alerts you before anyone even has a chance to read a dog tag.

When you need to find a pet, you want only the best.

Compare Gibi to other GPS tracking devices, and you’ll quickly see the Gibi advantage. It’s not just a dog finder or a cat finder. It’s more than a GPS dog collar or a GPS cell phone tracker. It’s a complete system. It’s a complete service. The Gibi device comes with a collar clip attachment, the app, and a charger, charger cable and A/C adapter. Monthly or yearly service charge and registration required.
Join the Gibi family today and enjoy the peace of mind knowing that your dog or your cat is right where he belongs. Otherwise you would have gotten an alert!

Easy to use pet tracker
We love our Gibi! I gives us peace of mind knowing our furbaby (13-month old, 90-pound Bulldane) can be located quickly if she ever goes missing again. Before we purchased the Gibi, she got spooked one day and ran away. We tracked her down within a couple of hours by driving around the area and asking others if they had seen her. Thankfully, some people had seen her and were able to direct us. Eventually a woman was able to catch her and then called out to us as we drove by. Our poor furbaby had run through several streets in our neighborhood, into a marshy field, crossed some railroad tracks, ran along a busy two lane road for three miles before crossing the road into another community. She was wet, exhausted, panicked and terrified by the time we got to her. If we had the Gibi, we would have been able to track her on our phones as we searched for her. We would have been able to locate her much quicker. She possibly could have avoided many of the dangerous and scary situations if we had been able to locate her before she ever left our neighborhood. We researched other pet tracking devices and finally decided to purchase the Gibi because you can setup multiple virtual fences in any shape and size, and because it is waterproof! Some of the other devices only allowed a large circle or square fence and were only water-resistant. The online setup of the Gibi was simple. They recommend expanding the virtual fences by 15 feet because the GPS location could be off by a few feet and then you may get a false alert. We have the Gibi setup to locate every hour and the battery lasts about a week. Once the battery cycles through a few discharges and charges it will last longer. We also receive early alerts whenever the battery is low (25-30%) to remind us to charge it. Another nice feature is that the power light only illuminates when pressed so it doesn't glow at night and annoy us. The Gibi attaches securely to her collar and hasn't come off even with rough play and getting knocked about. The web app is straightforward and easy to use. However, we would eventually like a stand alone app for our iPhones with an auto-login feature. We are also looking forward to seeing the options available to customize the look of the Gibi with different covers. We have emailed customer service on a few occasions with questions and we received courteous and prompt responses each time. There was a recent system update that they were having difficulties pushing to the Gibis automatically via cellular service so they gave us options to either download the data and install it on our own, or return it to them to update and then send back. We chose to do the update ourselves. It was simple and quick to do. Because of the minor inconvenience they gave us 3 free months of service which we thought was super generous. Overall we are very satisfied with our Gibi. We hope we never have to use it to track our furbaby if she gets lost again, but we are so thankful it is there if we ever need it.

I have spend two weeks trying to get this to work. I returned it to Gibi and they said it was working fine. It wouldn't find my GPS location when I first received it. Once I got it back it now shows the location miles away from my home. I do have to say Gibi customer service has been responsive but seemed to give me excuses why it wasn't working. When I asked what kind of GPS signal shows miles away from the actual location I was told " it has nothing to do with the GPS signals that are provided from multiple satellites designed and operated by the U.S. Government. It's simply a misunderstanding on how to use a new emerging technology". See attached picture. I would not have any confidence in this product to find my pet!

Totally waterproof and spot on

I just received my Gibi and followed the directions to set up. I attached it on my dog's leash and played around with the safe zones. After creating the safe zones, I let my teenagers take the dog to the beach for a swim. First I immediately got an alert the dog left our home safe zone, then I followed the kids walking the dog to the beach where they swam and played. Funny thing, not only did I see where the dog was on the map but I knew my kids were there too. After a while, I saw on the map the dog and kids walking back. When they got home I was alerted they were back in my home safe zone. The Gibi came back in perfect condition even after all the sand and surf. I'm thinking about putting the Gibi on my kid when surfering and when the dog is home alone.

Great tracker with a Major Limitation

I started with the "tagg" tracker a few years ago. The tagg was very limited in that it updated the track every 3 minutes. In that time, your dog can be miles away. But even so it was valuable in giving you the general direction the dog was headed. I had the tagg for a few years until they sold their company and it was then changed to the now called, "Whistle". They totally changed the app and the functionality of the device and it became basically worthless. I threw it in the garbage and started looking for a new tracker. That's when I discovered and purchased the "gibi". I have been testing this unit for about 6 months now. The gibi is also a web based tracker like the tagg/whistle unit. This means that you will need to subscribe to a monthly data service to be able to use it. They charge $10 a month at the moment. Also, you will need to be in an area with good ATT cellular network coverage to be able to use the gibi. The gibi is very easy to setup. It fits snugly into the collar bracket with no chance of losing it. It connects to the server and begins tracking almost instantly. The best feature of the gibi is that the user can control the update refresh time from every 30 seconds to every 4 minutes. However, this update time will directly affect the battery consumption. I keep mine at the 30 second interval at all times and get about 4 hours of battery life before needing to recharge the gibi. this is about as close to "real-time" tracking that you will get from any web based tracker on the market. The biggest drawback of the gibi is that the developers have not created a stand alone application for the unit. your phone or device will need to use a browser based application for tracking. You will be very frustrated until you figure out how to create a shortcut to the site and have it load and automatically fill your user and pass. Once you get this part done, you can get tracking pretty quickly. However a worst limitation for the gibi tracking browser is that it does not show your location in relationship to your dog's location. This is not so bad if you have some sort of landmark like a street corner or something. Even then you will need to open a navigator application on your phone and type in the dog's location just to be able to get directions to your dog. Of course by that time your dog will probably in Timbuctoo. Worse yet, as in my case, if you walk your dog in a park or in the woods, where there is no landmarks, when your dog takes off after deer or foxes, you will have a very difficult time locating. It's very frustrating and very disorienting. But I guess it's still better than nothing and certainly better than "tag/whistle". I contacted the developers at gibi and they assured me that they were working on a stand-alone application to overcome these limitations. However that was 6 months ago and still nothing has showed up. I will also give two thumbs up for the customer service at gibi. They answered all my emails and phone calls very quickly and were very courteous. overall, I would recommend this unit for anyone that walks their dogs off leash. even with all it's limitations, it is still a very useful tool and a peace of mind.

Amazing when it works right.

The thought behind this product is ahead of it's time....no really. When it tracks correctly it's great, but when it alerts you in the middle of the night, causing you jump from bed and run outside to save your pet....and it's standing where it should be, it's not so great. After several days of calls back and forth with the company, they came to the conclusion that it was giving false location alerts when set at lower than every 15 minute intervals. There solution was to not set it lower. If it can't be set lower without continuous false alerts, there shouldn't be lower time settings to choose from. At 15 mins intervals there are less false alerts, but they aren't gone completely. I was informed that you also get false readings/alerts if the dog is under pretty much anything from a tree, to a barn or even clouds. Starting around the one month mark, the battery no longer holds a charge. Product specs state that the battery lasts 4-5 days when set at 15 minute intervals. It now only lasts about 12 hours, and we even changed the settings to 30 minute intervals and still only get about 15 hours from the battery. Still waiting on a response from the company about the battery, so I reiterate that the concept is great, but the execution needs serious work.

1. Hi Bob, Thanks for your interest in Gibi! We have sized Gibi's battery to last 7 days on average. Like all mobile devices, it depends on usage. We will provide tips at product launch. We will send you a text message and/or email letting you know in plenty of time when to charge the battery. It takes less than 2 hours to charge the battery. Thanks for your question. Happy New Year! ...Synette, Founder & CEO, Gibi Technologies Inc.

4. The battery life depends on your refresh setting. You can set the gibi to refresh the track from 30 seconds to 4 minutes. I set mine to 30 seconds because I only need tracking when I'm walking the dogs off leash. at that refresh rate the battery lasts about 2 hours. that pretty much covers our walk. I have not used the longer refresh rates so I don't know the max battery charge time.

5. Gibi device battery life is 4-5 days when the device is outdoors and set to locate at every 15 minutes. Battery life will be reduced if the device is mostly indoors and if the location update frequency is set to less than 15 minutes. The battery life is similar to using your mobile phone more or less often. (That info is from Gibi's FAQs.) Gibi's provides low battery alerts and full charge alerts, which is a good reminder to put the device back on your dog. Like that Gibi allows to change the location frequency so I can manage usage and battery life. My dog is indoors most of the time. I get 2-3 days of battery life.

1. Hi Liz, Thanks for your question and your interest in Gibi! For this first version of Gibi, your dog can travel just about anywhere in the U.S.A. with mobile coverage and still be found. You can be anywhere in the world with internet connectivity and see where your dog with a Gibi device is in the U.S.A. For example, if you are in Europe, you can see where your dog with a Gibi device is in Hawaii. We will be expanding beyond the U.S.A. 4. This is a web based tracker so it depends on cellular service (ATT). If your area is not covered well by ATT cellular service then you should not use this product. So, the answer is wherever there is ATT cellular service. the best this to do is get on ATT web site and see their coverage map.

5. There is no maximum/minimum distance of where you need to be in order to locate your pets with Gibi. Wherever in the world you may be with your internet connected computer, tablet or smartphone, you can see where your dog is anywhere in the U.S. For example, if you live in California and are traveling to Europe, you can see on the Gibi app with your internet connected smartphone where your dog walker is walking your dog in California. Gibi uses mobile services to maximize coverage and provide your pet's location to you from anywhere and everywhere. (This is straight from Gibi's FAQ at getgibi.com.)
