Give your cat privacy and have an easier time cleaning up the litter with the Giant Sifting Enclosed Cat Pan. This device is ideal for clumping litter, so there is no digging through the gravel with a scoop to remove waste because of the simple effective design. The Van Ness cat pan has a hood top and a filter that provides odor control. Its large size is designed specifically for bigger cats and multiple-feline households. It comes with a straining system that consists of two litter pans below a sifting piece. The whole package is made of unbreakable, high-impact plastic that is stain and odor resistant. The pan itself is easy to maintain, and it stays fresher because dual odor-absorbing Zeolite filters freshen the air. The cat litter pan has four latches that lock from top to bottom to hold the liner in place.

I am very pleased with this product. I had purchased a smaller one for one of our bathrooms and "Miss Kittie" loved it. I purchased the larger one for our second bathroom as "Miss Kittles" is larger and had difficulty with the smaller one. Miss Kittie still uses the smaller one but "Miss Kittles" always uses the larger one. I don't use the clump cat litter. I use the Arm and Hammer Natural Litter which is light and works well with these type litter boxes. I taped the doors open for ease of access. I don't have to change the litter as often as I use to and this saves me money! Highly recommend this product! I still hand scoop every day but can reuse much of the litter when I sift it to the new tray every couple of weeks. Have added pictures of our adorable kitties!

Excellent product, well made, and my long haired large domestic cat loves it also !!! Keeps all the litter inside the box!! The sifting part works great!! inbetween siftings i do use a scoop to keep up with having clean litter on a daily basis for my kitty. Only recommendation is to not over-fill with the litter since this is a large pan, i would only put in about 3" worth of litter and replace what i take out on the daily basis. if you put more than 3" of litter in the box, it gets pretty heavy to lift it up. otherwise i love it !!!

I am so pleased with this product! I used to despise, agonize, and delay the whole changing of the litter box because it was so time consuming, smelly, and difficult. The previous litter pan we had was a sifting pan, but the holes were so small it was a double chore. This new pan is so easy I just remove the top, and lift! The holes are wider so it makes for much easier sifting. I know our cat loves the privacy as well. When he had the other pan he would get spooked if anyone say, walked in on him. Now he has all the privacy he needs and does not freak out when someone enters the room...Awesome Product!!!

I read most of the reviews and found some complaints about the size, sifting and locking the hood down. Well, the size is just fine for my 3 boys (1 Siamese & 2 Maine Coon brothers). In the beginning you may find some difficulties but once you find a "routine" to sift, it works out great. Even takes me less time now. As far as locking the hood into place...push down on each corner and the clips will lock into place (listen/feel for 2 clicks). Do the same when releasing the hood too so you won't snap the clips. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase.

First of all it is high quality construction MADE IN THE U.S. of A.!!! I found it fits the bill for me, I will say that the "nesting" pans are too tight and cumbersome to seperate due to the weight of the litter in the top pan, soulition: I do not nest them keeping the empty one seperately, I have pleanty of room so this works best for me. With the pans not "nested" the side clamps for the cover do not "hook on" but this is also an advantage for me being arthritic and gravity keeps the cover in place just fine. It only takes a moment to lift the "strainer" and dump it into a pail with a plastic bag for disposal. Yes the strainer does get a little "build-up" of wet litter so about once a week it gets a hosing out in the yard. All and all it is very easy to use and clean up is quick and easy with a garden hose. As for the door/flap I opted not to use it as the litter box is kept outside on a screened piazza and being in south Florida I am afraid that the interior would build up too much heat, especially in the summer.

  • A. Remove empty pan from under filled pan. After sifting dispose feces then put sifter into empty pan. Pour remaining litter into the pan with the sifter in it, the place that pan in the now empty cat pan.

  • A. There are actually two litter pans. When you lift the grate, the loose litter falls into one. After dumping the grater, lift out the box that contains the litter; set the grater in the empty box and pour in the litter from the first box. Then put that box on the bottom with the grater and other pan inside. Easy as pie!

  • A. After lifting the grate and discarding waste - you put the grate into the next clean pan and then transfer the rest of the litter to the new one. I find this TEDIOUS - so I keep the grate in the middle of the 2 pans and just scoop out mess as I use clumping cat litter. I find scooping less time consuming and less lifting of heavy litter!

  • A. It is so easy, you sift the litter through the sifter and then put the sifter into the second litter pan and add the litter from the first litter pan to the sifter and add more litter if you need it. Its that easy.

  • A. This litter box comes with the top cover, sifting pan, and two bottom pans/tubs. After lifting the sifting device and depositing the liiter clumps into the trash, you simply put the sifter into the empty box. Then you pour the clean litter back on top of the sifter and re-stack the now empty box underneath. The latch on the top cover is built to accomodate both litter tubs and the sifter all at once.

  • A. The box comes with 2 pans to exchange the litter with. After sifting into one pan you put the sifter in the other pan and pour the sifted litter on top, then put the empty box on the bottom and snap on the lid. It is very easy

  • A. the box comes with 2 bottoms. you sift the waste out, then put the sifting piece in the empty bottom. after, you pour the litter over the sifting piece from the bottom that had the litter. once this bottom is empty, you just put it on the bottom of the whole unit.

  • A. Exchanging the litter is easy. After sifting and getting rid of the waste, there are two layer not including the shifting tray. First you lift the sifting tray, then remaining litter will be on another tray. There is another tray underneath that one, pull that one out. Put the sifting tray on top of empty tray then pour the litter on top of that. then the empty tray goes underneath the other two you just pour the litter into. Very easy...it does tend to get heavy but empty tray underneath the litter filled tray seems to slide out easily.

  • A. your cat can still bury as needed. the sifting piece is way below the litter. the cat may hit the sifter if it digs to the very bottom, but this doesn't seem to bother my cats.

  • A. My cats cover up their "byproducts" but I don't see how they could bury anything with the sifter in place with such small openings to sift the litter when you lift the sifter to remove their "byproducts". I only use the sifter every couple of weeks since I still hand scoop each day. If the litter I sift is still clean and has no odor I will use it again in the clean box and add to it.
