Great snow tires!!! Installed on 17 civic SI.

Got them Nov 17, I know I can always get home if it starts snowing. Good performance wet and dry. Had them on my old civic also

    Best winter tires

First of all I drive a 97 Ford Escort wagon, and I know that finding good tires for this car at a reasonable price is hard, and these have all but exceeded my expectations. I'm all about having good tires and now that I've had these on my car for more than a little over 30,000 miles they're doing good! I love the traction I have in snow and rain especially... Before these I had runway tires on my car from the previous owner and (never buy them, in the rain you will run off the road and probably be injured at speeds over 45 mph).. but back to these generals, they're fantastic and the tread pattern is bulky and impressive. I love these tires. If you want great traction in snow and be able to drive up a hill with very little slips at a steep grade these tires are for you! Now that it's not winter I'll keep them on because they handle great in the rain as well and I still have 70 percent tread left with over 30,000 miles on them and I drive on choppy roads up here in the Northeast. Buy them, you will NOT be disappointed!

    Great winter tire!

Me: 42+ year driver. Car: 1983 Mercedes 300SD. Old school: No 4WD, AWD, ABS, traction or stability controls, etc. (Yes it is my daily driver.) Other car: Grand Marquis with best all season tires I have ever used Conti DWS Extreme, plus ABS, etc. Other-Other car: GMC Safari All Wheel Drive, ABS, etc. BFG Long Trail T/A's all season. Rain, snow, sleet, ice: Hands down take the Benz with the Altimax Arctic. Three winters now and part of a summer too. Several seasons of tread remain. These tires are a sanctioned copy of Gislaved Nordfrost 3 "Swedish" Winter Tires. Low noise, very good wear, great tracking, traction, and stability. Slow turn-in but it is not a summer performance tire. Was once behind a police cruiser fishtailing all over, he in turn behind a line of cars all sliding off the mild grade. Cruiser lights go on, road closed, but not for me and my Arctic's. Climbed the grade no problem.

    GREAT WINTER TIRES

nice winter tires. deep tread and great tread pattern. one side note: they are directional. they are not all position tires. be aware when they are mounted. they have low road noise for the aggressive tread depth.

7 winter seasons on the same set of Altimax Arctic

I have been using the same set of General Altimax Arctic tires on my 2005 Toyota Corolla since the winter of 2008/09 and I think this winter (2015/16) I will finally replace them with a new set of General Altimax Arctic tires. They are showing some wear and are getting noisy due to the wear pattern on them. They are still shedding standing water pretty well though. Every year about mid-November I put them and will leave them on until mid-March. These tires have been great. I live along the west side of Michigan and we get a lot of lake effect snow that keeps the roads covered in snow. It's like my Corolla has 4-wheel drive. On my commutes to work (30 miles one way) I can travel on the highway at speeds that most 4-wheel drive trucks and SUV's wont match. I feel very confident with these tires with their good ability to shed slush and snow. Stopping, cornering and take off grip is great with these. I do recommend that you use a full set of four tires, I can see why they say not to only use 2 on the front as the rear end will slip and slide as you go around corners. I plan to purchase my new set from Walmart soon. I've shopped around and they have the best prices anywhere.
