This is a lot nicer than the Husky - Honda motored that I purchased at Home Depot 2 yrs. ago for more $$$ than this model - make. The Honda motor blew here in Florida during the 2nd season home wash, LOW Oil,the motor didn't have an auto low oil shut off, it just did a run out of gas type slow down and LOCKED UP, Trust me what oil remained in the motor ran onto the ground. This new one has an automatic low oil shut off. Many of you will say, Owner Error, I know I should have checked the oil, haha it's Old Timers, we can't remember everything, I did remember it was time to do the house again to kill the Mold, Spiders, Webs, Bugs, etc.and Remembered it ran perfect last season. Darn, I made another Error, Buying the Husky - Honda without an Automatic Low Oil Shut Off, please make sure whatever you purchase that it has this shut off feature, so you don't do the same. To All the Young and Old Timers, ( Baby Bloomers) hope this will help you safe money. Haha I even bought a 3 year Service Policy, this Ethanol Gas causes ALL KINDS OF TROUBLE. Good Luck, Hope this is helpful, Ed In The Sunshine State..

Because of the great reviews I bought this product even though there were several people that complained about only being able to use a 50' hose with it. I didn't realize how short a 50' hose was until I looked at all of my hoses which were 75'! I bought a 50' hose to accomodate that restriction and I couldn't reach anything around my house. I would have had to bring the machine back. I called my son who is a contractor and asked him about it. He said to go ahead and use my 75' hoses - a 50' hose is advised because if you don't have good water pressure it could damage the machine. We have great water pressure so he said it would be ok. I hooked it up to my 75' hose and power washed for 8 hours straight! It was awesome! I am not encouraging the use of a hose longer than recommended - just passing along what I did.

Exceptionial Pressure Washer.Walmart not so much

Well to start with I ordered this washer from Walmart online. The package arrived very quickly. I was excited to get it so fast. I opened the box and I was totally upset inside the box that was suppose to be a Generac gas powered pressure washer was a brute piece of junk. I thought well I will give it a try. I put it together and guess what it would not even start. By now I was really not happy so I went and got on the computer and found another place other than Walmart to get the Generac that i wanted in the first place and went and bought it. I got it home did what the manual said to do and the first pull it started and it has every time since I love it. So becarefull ordering online from walmart might not be what you wanted. I do have to say that when i returned it they simply refunded my money with no problems.

This unit is well designed, compact, and delivers everything the average homeowner needs. It's powerful enough to perform tough jobs like cleaning siding, sidewalks, or mower decks; yet gentle enough not to remove paint or break siding. The wash wand is lightweight and it's handle is padded, greatly reducing operator fatigue. The engine's controls are well placed and includes a fuel shutoff lever in the same area as the choke and throttle. It always starts on the first or second pull and runs effortlessly. I did find the high pressure hose material a little stiff and a little short at 25 feet. I did a lot of research and was told by a trusted repair source that the pump was fully serviceable, not disposable like most other units. This unit replaces a poorly engineered unit by Troy-Bilt. I would recommend buying this unit at a farm and garden equipment store with an on site service department rather than a big box store. Siding looks like NEW! Off to the DECK!

I bought the 2700 mainly for my driveway. The concrete is normally white in color when I bought the house in 8/2011. Now it turned very dark due to sap and just dirt stains & tire stains. The PW was easy to assemble and learned the correct process to start it. One pull and we were in business. I had to use the RED tip to really get at removing the stains. It took some time to get it cleaned but now it's back to it's original white condition. . I did have a problem with the spray hose and the clear tubing from the washer tank to the pump. If you're not careful, YOU'LL HAVE THE HOSE LEAN AGAINST THE HOT ENGINE and cause it to burn or even melt. I ended up taping the hoses to the lower frame bar to keep them from making contact with the engine. Generac should improve that condition by having clips to attach the hose onto it to avoid the problem. They do warn of this in their manual but instead of taking corrective action, they just print the warning. They should just fix the problem!! Other than that, it's a great PW.

purchased and had some issues right away such as defective gas tank screen and intermittent power. I would have exchanged but I called manufacturers customer service 3 times. Two of the times they were so rude and did everything they could not to help me. They even gave me a number for a service center who when called they complained that they keep getting these calls and they keep informing generac that they do not service their products. They leave me no choice but to return the product.

Customer has been confirmed to have purchased the item from Walmart.

The power washer was easy to assemble, easy to ready (gas and oil filling was very easy) and started on the second pull. I have used it about 5 hours now and it has a great deal of power and does a great job. Easy to start and easy to adjust. My only concern is that after running continually for awhile (say about 10 minutes) the unit makes a "clutch slipping" sound...similar to the sound it makes when you engage the handle on the wand to actually begin the power spray...even though the unit is just idling. I looked in the manual and it says that if the unit is running and the wand is not engaged there is a potential buildup of high temp water in the unit and it expels the hot water. This could be the issue...it sounds like the clutch is slipping, however, and happens more and more frequently the longer the unit runs. When the wand is engaged there is no problem and it performs beautifully.

Great All Around Washer

Had it for 2 weeks now, and used it about 10 hrs already. No problems what-so-ever. Gas tank is plenty large to run for @ 2 hrs without refilling. The pump location is perfect, high enough to access without getting on your hands and knees or into an awkward position. Engine controls are a nice feature as well: fuel shut off, speed control, choke, on/off switch. So far have cleaned the stain off of a wood fence and concrete. My wife has done most of the cleaning and she loves this washer. The only maintenance I have performed is the initial 5 hr break in oil change. Some folks complain that it dies when you move it due to the low oil shut off feature. However, just don't tip it more than 20 degrees and you wont have any problems. Even if it does die, it starts right back up without any issues. Comes with four nozzles: 0, 25, 45, and soap. Wish it came with a 15 degree nozzle. I bought a 15, but can't tell much of a difference in power between it and the 25, so not so much of a big deal. Get this washer, you will not regret it.

Let's start with the manual. So many manuals these days are just worthless. I will still read them, or attempt to. This one was great! It described in detail how to set up, use, find and correct problems, normal maintenance and how to properly store it. The setup was easy to do and after that I started the water and gave the recoil starter one easy pull and the engine immediately came to life. The first tests I gave it involved cleaning mossy growths and 10 years of ground in dirt off my patio, it was a breeze. Then I tried stripping some paint off some concrete and with the smallest tip, this washer was up to the task. I tested it out on my steel siding and gutters and I can see it will have no problem completing those tasks either. I still haven't tried the detergent and wash tips out yet but my truck really would like a bath, so it's on the list. And I think my mower deck could use a good cleaning followed by a fresh coat of rustoleum too. Everything about this pressure washer impressed me and I'd struggle to find any criticisms.

  • A. The 2700psi Power Washer will come with the detergent hose as an accessory packaged with the unit. When detergent is needed, ensure that the soap nozzle is properly connected to the lance, the siphon hose is attached to the pump, and that the filter end of the siphon hose is fully submerged into the desired detergent. Once these steps are completed, with the unit running, depressing the trigger on the gun will cause the water drawn through the pump to pull detergent into the stream. When detergent is no longer needed, we recommend ensuring that the siphon hose and pump are properly flushed according to the directions in the owner’s manual to prevent damage to the other nozzles. Once the system has been properly flushed, the detergent hose can be removed from the connection point on the pump, and the desired pressure nozzle can be utilized.

Clog Hog Sewer Jetter attachment. How long is the pressure washer hose? If less than 25 feet, is longer hose or extension hose available?
by csuu 8/14/2012

  • A. The answer by the Generac person is not quite correct. Generac does sell a 1/4 inch size, 30 foot long pressure hose that is meant for use on this pressure washer, as well as the 2500 psi model 6020, and is standard on the 3000 psi model 6024. The Generac part number is 0H9576A and it can be purchased directly from Generac online via Shopatron. You will see some reduction in pressure with the longer hose, but it will not damage your pump. The important thing is to have sufficient water pressure on the pump inlet side to keep it primed and lubricated. http://shop.generac.com/products/productdetail/Hose+1/4+inch+30FT/part_number=0H9576A/9015.0.1.1.0.0.0.0.0?

  • A. The 2700 psi Power Washer is an outdoor use only item, as the engine produces carbon monoxide, which can be deadly. This 2700psi Power Washer will come packaged with a 25 foot long high pressure hose. Currently Generac does not offer an extension to the high pressure hose provided with the power washer. If a longer high pressure hose is necessary, the hose should have a diameter of 3/8” to ensure proper water flow as damage done to the unit from using an improperly sized hose will void the factory warranty. The hoses that come with the units are ¼” diameter, but when lengthening the hose you will have a need for more pressure, so if you increase the hose size, you increase the amount of water flowing through, allowing a longer hose to be usable for this unit.
