Garnier Olia Oil Powered Permanent Hair Color Garnier Olia is unlike any other traditional, permanent hair color. Powered by a 60% oil blend formula with natural flower oils, Olia propels colorants deep into the hair, giving you vivid color results and 100% gray coverage. The non-drip formula has no ammonia, so it smells great as you apply, and the oils help to reverse roughness and dullness. The end result? More brilliant, long-lasting color and hair that is hydrated, silky, and up to 3x shinier than uncolored, unwashed hair. What's in the hair dye kit? A developer tube, a colorant tube, after color conditioner, as well as a set of gloves and the instruction sheet.

sorely disappointed

I thought I'd finally found it---the perfect hair color. I've been using Nice N' Easy for decades; my hair looked wonderful, shiny and flowing, BUT, I just could not find the right color. When I discovered this Garnier Olia in the dark brown shade for which I'd searched for years, I was thrilled. That lasted just until I finished drying my hair after the dye job. Good grief, ladies....don't use this stuff!!!! My hair looks like straw!!!!!!! I never use hot rollers, curling irons, gel, mousse, hair spray....my hair was as healthy as it could be. UNTIL I PUT THIS STUFF ON IT!!! Horrible! It's been a month now; I super condition twice weekly, but my hair is dryer than it's ever been in my 64 years on this planet. I almost start crying every time I see my hair. Even my husband of 43 years actually noticed! That's when I REALLY knew just how bad it was. My hairstylist advised me to cut off SIX INCHES!!! AARRRGGGHHHH!! PLEASE, ALL YOU LOVELY WOMEN OUT THERE----DO NOT USE THIS STUFF!!!

Great color, depth, and intensity.

That being said, you have to keep a few things in mind... it's oil based and uses flower pigments for the color. Hair will not react to it the same way as with a chemical dye. I noticed it seems more difficult with saturation, have to really massage it in. Doesn't make my scalp itch or burn. However it will remain on skin, especially the scalp. I prevented that by applying some conditioner around the hairline. And it took one additional wash a few days after dying to remove any traces on my scalp. The color is intense and gorgeous, I've used many different brands, this one just blew them all away. As another reviewer advised, you need a good natural conditioner to keep hair from becoming dry. But that's a staple whether you dye your hair or not. I say, if you're weary...try it. But take your time and let it work. It's not something you can rush through. The results are worth it, if you do it right.

Great application!

My hair is a blondish grey. Texture is fine. I have been using Garnier Olia Oil Powered Permanent Hair Color for over a year. I use Medium Blonde 8.0. It covers my grey completely. Has a pleasant fragrance, no ammonia. I apply ever six weeks; doesn't fade like other brands. I recommend to those that color their hair and want a great quality at home hair color. My hair always looks healthier with shinier.

Really good grey coverage

I've been using Clairol Natural Instincts for over 10 years as my greys multiply. Seemed like it just faded out sooner, though, as I've gotten older. So I tried Olia in the natural light auburn, and there is no comparison. Well of course the Natural Instincts isn't permanent color, but I have tried other permanent colors and I have to say Olia tops my list. I re-color about every 6 weeks. First of all, the color is so natural and close to my own shade. Best grey coverage I've ever used, too - and it lasts. My grey hairs turn out lighter than my surviving auburns, so the effect looks like natural highlights. My hair also seems healthier than it has been with other coloring products. I DO baby it with good products I've found over the years, so I don't know if it would be this healthy without them. Another REALLY nice benefit is that this product doesn't stink. No harsh odor at all. My one complaint is that you have to rinse and rinse and RINSE more than usual to get the water to run clear at the end. It's kind of annoying and that's why I gave it only 4 stars. But the results are worth it, in my opinion.

Love it!

I have thick curly hair and use this product in darkest brown every month and a half. The color is beautiful and my scalp doesn't have a negative reaction to the dye like at the salon. The smell is as pleasant as hair dye can be and the directions are very easy to follow. I do leave it in twice the time the directions say to get the color shown on the box, but that might be because my hair is thick. Overall I love this product!
