    GREAT
This worked great for us. You need to go through the tools and settings to get it set up the way you want it to work, which I like so I can personalize it.

Too many out of box failures!
I would like to summarize why I am going to put out a very poor review for Garmin's Drive 60LM. 1) I received a Drive 60LM that suggests using Garmin Express software on a PC or MAC to update the maps and the Drive 60LM's software. Then the update cannot be completed (yet there is NO ERROR MESSAGE SAYING YOUR DEVICE DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH MEMORY FOR THIS UPDATE!) It just hangs each time the update is downloaded to the device, Wasting a customers valuable time. Contacting customer service yields a solution to this problem. Delete the unused language voice files in the Voice Folder. Hmm, why are all these voice files resident in the voice folder anyway. This device is only mapped for the lower 48 United States. Seems English would be the ONLY voice file absolutely necessary for this audience. I not only deleted the unnecessary voice files, I also deleted unused Vehicles as well as unused language help files. Now isn't this interesting. The update that could not be loaded was help files. What nonsense. This makes NO SENSE AT ALL! 2) Ah yes, another time costing delay in getting the Help file update was the connection from the Garmin Drive 60LM to my computer. The cable and the Drive 60LM contacts needed to be cleaned as I had no connection on my computers USB port. Another time waster trying to figure out what was happening. I had some contact cleaner around from other projects. Squirted the USB cable ends then inserted the cable into the mating devices several times to clean the contacts. Everything worked fine after that. 3) After FINALLY completing the Help File updates, I am ready to put the device in my car. I am preparing for a trip to PA from MD. I put the mount on my windshield and have the device operating. I have one stop to make before starting this trip. I turn on the ignition and the Garmin comes alive. Wonderful! I make my stop. I need to go back home to get some last minute items. I turn on the ignition and the Garmin Drive 60LM is dead. Nothing! Panic, I drive back home, take the auto cable inside with the Drive 60LM. Figured I would try cleaning this cable's ends and the Drive 60LM again. Same process and yes that worked. Another time waster, and delay in leaving, as I had not planned on any problems. I again install everything in car and am now on the road with my new Garmin Drive 60LM and it appears to be working fine. 4) My daughter lives in a rural location in PA that I had not been to, so I am now fully depending on the Garmin Drive 60LM to get me there. I am 15 minutes away and she calls me. I let her know where I am and she tells me there is a bridge out due to water damage and its been out for a few days. she proceeds to tell me how to get around this. I stop her and say, "lets see what my new GPS does". Well, it did not know of the detour. Then it took me on a half hour ride on back roads only to return me back to the same point. I decided to follow the detour signs then. I did get to my daughter's house about forty five minutes later than expected. 5) When leaving my daughter's home, she told me how to avoid the outed bridge. So I started with her directions and figured I would let the Garmin Drive 60LM continue. Well It took me to a dead end road. A barricade with a sign Road Closed (very weather beaten, so that barricade has been there for a while). I could see the road I wanted to be on, so I got to it on my own then put the Garmin in control again. So, with the map issues in Pennsylvania, I really wonder how frequently maps are updated. I also encountered road construction on Interstate 270 and it did not say anything to alert me. However, I am not certain this device has that feature. Non the less I am NOT happy with the existing maps. Seems they are NOT updated frequently at all. In Summary, I am going to talk with my daughter that purchased this device as a Father's Day gift for me. I do not believe paying what she did for this device is worth it. After having all these problems and not having satisfactory results with mapping, I am ready to return the device. Unfortuately it was a gift and I hate to have her return it. I am retired and have time to burn. I don't believe consumers working there buns off can take the time I did to make this device function then to have it not perform well in guiding one on a trip. I do not recommend this or any Garmin device at this point. Too many initial out of box problems. JFZMD

    GPS

Works great and easy to use just the right size move to any place without any hassle

    Great device

My husband and I bought this unit while on vacation, to upgrade from a smaller, very old Nuvi. We were very pleased, but we knew what the unit was, and was not, capable of when we bought it. It will not update you when there is a wreck, a road out or traffic problems ahead, as this is the LM model (lifetime maps), not the LMT model (maps plus traffic awareness). We knew this when we purchased the unit, so it did not present a problem, as we did not expect it to do something it was not designed to do in the first place. And no, sadly, it does not brew coffee. : ) It will alert you to changing speed zones (keep the maps and drivers updated if you want the most recent information), remind you to stop and rest during long trips, find nearby restaurants and points of interest, and give great turn by turn directions. It also alerts you visually if you are going over the speed limit, by enveloping your current speed between red vertical bars if you are over. Yes it has lifetime updatable maps, but they do not update automatically, you have to update the drivers, and maps, via a downloadable app. All of this information we expected, as we researched a bit before buying the device. In short, if you are looking for something with traffic awareness that automatically updates, this is NOT the unit for you. If you are looking for a basic unit that gives great directions as long as you take the time to manually update the software and maps, this one will certainly work, very well.
After owning a Garmin for 10 years we decided to upgrade to a larger screen, lifetime maps and other amenities. including a great Price! Setup was easy and can't wait to put it to good use when we go camping in the Spring.

    Buyer beware

So I gave this item only 3 stars because of how it arrived. I was with the understanding that this was a new GPS however it arrived in a plain unmarked box. Not a Garmin labeled box. I feel like I was sent a refurbished one and led to believe it was a new one. Be careful.

    buy new

Walmart had it as new but seems to be rebuilt didn't work and send it back
