The minute I plugged my Garmin in I was off to the races. Having owned Garmins for many years the purchase of the Drive 61 was an upgrade to my previous models and well worth the money. The larger screen was the first thing I noticed and it got better from there.

I would buy this 1000 times again
I use this everyday. I travel all over the Southeast of the United States and love having this in my lower left window area. I have NEVER used my phone to navigate because it takes my eyes off of the road. The large screen makes it so easy to see at a quick glance of the eyes. Love my Garmin GPS!
wouldn't trade it
i drive for a well known home package delivery company. Use this every day on my route. No problems.except sometimes it will tell me house is on the right when its on the left but i guess it's how you come into a neighborhood.didnt have to update. Gets me to where i need to go. love the fact it tells me I'm entering a school zone so i can make sure my speed is correct and i can take extra precautions for the little ones who may be out and about. makes my job a little bit easier. I've had mine for 3 years. still getting me to people's front doors.
I want to buy this item for my wife for Christmas.
I deliver fleet vehicles for a local car deal all over the state of Florida. This GPS is perfect as it gives clear and accurate directions and notifies me of possible delays on the highway. More than pleased with the product and the prompt arrival of my order. Will order from Beach Camera again....#sweepstakes
Works well for me
This was purchased as a primary car GPS. Compared with older *699 model, it syncs with satellites in a few secs and has a bit less glare. I've had it for a few months now; hasn't had any errors in navigation. With a few exceptions, mostly chooses fastest route. When getting off a route, recalculated quite quickly. Not always accurate at counting in traffic delay time, but this model is not HD; maybe, that matters. Garmin generally lags behind Google in updating new areas; had a couple of instances when it wouldn't have the address that existed for, at least, half a year. Overall, still giving it 5 stars, as it's as close to perfection as one could get with these devices. In Houston, it has worked reliably for me so far.
Nice replacement gps
The display is great the mounting base is better than the windshield, I wished I had research this GPS unit a little better. Putting in your destination is easy, you have to dig for the number of miles left on your trip overall I'm happy with this purchase and the price. #sweepsrake'
Okay but interface needs to be improved
This is the third Garmin GPS I have owned. I feel that my immediate prior Garmin GPS was easier to operate than the Drive 61 as the interface (menu) is not as intuitive as I think it should be given how many iterations of GPSs that Garmin has produced. In some respects I like the way my prior Garmin GPS worked.
The Garmin 61LM proved to be an inaccurate, inefficient GPS
The basic value of a GPS unit is in its accuracy and efficiency. I have found the Garmin 61LM to be less accurate than the TomTom Via that it replaced. I used the Garmin on three different routes that I am familiar with to begin learning how to use it. One the first route, it gave me a left turn away from my destination when a right turn was required. On the second route, it gave me a left turn onto a street name that does not exist when a right turn to a real street was required. On the third route, it gave me a route wandering thru side streets to my destination when a main highway and interstate were a more direct and efficient choice. In my experience, the Garmin is not a dependable GPS guide to a desired destination.
Do Not Buy This.
I ended up getting 2 of these from Beach Camera. The first one had problems with flickering all the time. It was impossible to use. After talking with customer service, it was decided to send it back for another new one. That one worked fine for 3 weeks, then just quit. Could not turn it on. Sent it back and got my money back.
