Instructions: Do not start your engine after you have applied Gunk Original until entire engine is properly rinsed. Rinsing is necessary to properly clean engine and to avoid potential fire hazard. Safeguard our environment. Use the minimum amount of rinse water necessary and see disposal statement below. 1. Engine must be off and cool. 2. Care must be taken with all underhood wiring and electronic sensors or components. Cover any open carburetor or intake system opens. Cover exposed electrical and electronic components (uncovered cracked, frayed wires or engine computer units can short circuit). 3. Shake well and apply generously to dry engine. Make sure to cover all dirty and greasy surface areas with Gunk Original. Wipe overspray from exterior body surfaces with a wet cloth quickly to avoid de-waxing or streaking paint. 4. Allow Gunk Original to soak for 10 to 15 minutes. Brush unusually heavy deposits to break up grease and dirt. 5. Rinse all areas with a fine stream of water from top down. Minimize rinse water in areas that cause performance problems (electronics & intakes). 6. When complete, remove added coverings and replace any removed parts. Start engine and idle 15 minutes to assure complete drying. Storage & Handling: Do not expose to heat, sparks, open flame, or store at temperatures above 120 degrees F (48 degrees C). Do not puncture or incinerate container. Do not expose the container to electrical connections or battery terminals as it may cause the container to rupture and result in serious injury. Use only in a well-ventilated area. Disposal: The residue resulting from the removal of petroleum oils and greases may be considered a hazardous waste depending upon where and how generated. The use of this product to clean engines and bilges in watercraft produces a hazardous waste that cannot be discharged into any waterway. Disposal of contaminated rinse water into watercourses, sewers, or on the ground may also be prohibited by law. Such disposal is prohibited in California. Proper disposal includes collecting and evaporating rinse water and/or recycling and disposal of residues and the empty container in accordance wit hall local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Works great, simple to use
I was hesitant to use this product as it seemed just not right to spray liquid all over my engine, then hose it off. But I figured it gets wet when its raining so I thought I'd try it. Amazing. Just be sure to wrap a plastic shopping bag around your alternator and any other semi-exposed electrical junctions, and equally as important, remove the plastic bags before starting the engine....it's easy to forget. Sprayed it on, let it sit and work, hosed it off, and boom....CLEAN. They also make another product that you spray on as a next step and it puts a nice shine protection coat on everything that makes it easier for you to clean the next time. I have even used this on my mower. Works great!!
Gunk Original Engine Degreaser
This is an astounding product! I have a 2002 Ford Explorer thats been a daily driver since 2002 and the engine hasn't been cleaned once! it had a huge layer of dirt, grime and oil coating EVERYTHING that was under the hood. I followed the directions on the back of the can and It worked wonders! I didn't even need the shine spray stuff and the engine is squeaky clean.
