My PC has a plug for microphone and a separate one for speakers (audio-out)...does this mic have an adapter to plug into both? In comparison, most phones have one plug that does both.

  • A. On my DELL that sounds similar, YES, it does, and works great with GoogleVoice & probably Skype. One of the included adapters does have the separate "Y" mic & earphone cord split about which your asking.

  • A. This is just the device you need. It has one adapter for mic and speakers so you can use it with your PC for things like Skype. Then, you disconnect from that adapter and can plug it directly into most mobile phones such as an Android or iPhone variety, and many others. I've used this for 3 months now and have been so pleased that I left a thorough review of it on this site. So look for it and you'll see why I recommend it.

I was looking for some time to buy a headset that would allow me to use my cordless phone while working so I could be hands-free for typing. This headset delivers! I love the way it fits and I forget that I'm even wearing it. I also have a Cisco VoIP phone with Plantronics wireless headset and it is very uncomfortable compared to this inexpensive GE Earset. The package states it is a multi-use headset suitable for mp3 players, telephones, cell phones and computers. It comes with adapters for 2.5mm and 3.5mm connections. The computer adapter splits the connections for separate mic and headset connectors. I'm using mine with a Panasonic Cordless phone system using the 2.5mm connection. The audio clarity is excellent. No complaints from people I talk to and I always hear them loud and clear, thanks to the perfect positioning of the earpiece. Highly recommended!

Bought one today. Tried using them with speech recognition in windows 7 (with the Y adapter provided with the product), the noise cancelling feature of mic works very well (used the product with background noise of AC, I can say our old AC over here is pretty loud). Sound quality from the earpiece is pretty decent for the money spent. Initially it was bit difficult to put it on, but after trying for sometime it did fit very well. The loop is made of soft material and doesn't hurt your ear even after long usage. I have been wearing the earset for more than an hour now and it has not caused any discomfort so far. Only thing which did not meet my expectation is the wire quality, it could have been bit better. If you sweat a lot and if the wire gets wet somehow I bet it feels sticky and awkward. Overall I can say pretty decent product for the money spent!!! Yes adapters provided are very useful.

I use this for my business and have already recommended it to other business associates and friends. I used to have a Bluetooth device, but the Bluetooth standard changed and I couldn't use it on all my devices. As well, I hated telling clients, "Hold on -- I'm syncing my phone to Bluetooth" on an occasional call. As well, I didn't like finding out at a bad time that my Bluetooth device lost power, and the device I had didn't tell me when I would lose power soon enough. So, a wired option was the best choice for me to do my online business of PHP web development. Next, the other great thing is that I can plug it into my laptop for Skype, but then disconnect it and plug it into my mobile phone as well. The device has adapters for this and I leave the adapters in my laptop. Another thing I like is that I can switch ears with it. If I get tired on one ear, I can switch. The problem with a full-blown headset for both ears is that I can't hear important things in my other ear, and it also looks pretty odd in a coffeeshop with those other headsets. And because this headset has a small mic sticking out, it clearly tells people around me that I'm working a call. Last, the device packs extremely well -- it's more durable than the flimsy headsets that you get typically for mobile phones. So, all around, I love this headset. It's cheap, durable, packs well, is solid electronics, looks great, can be switched from ear to ear, and doesn't have the issues that Bluetooth stuff has.

I bought this headset because I was working at a political campaign call center volunteer. During my shift my cell phone was continuously connected. Holding my cellphone to my ear for long periods was awkward, tiring, and tied up a hand. Since I "received" calls directed by an Internet based auto-dialer system, so far as the phone was concerned all I had to did was talk and listen. No matter how I turned or tilted my head, the phone connection remained optimal. Listening was better than without the headset. No one mentioned having difficulty hearing and understanding me. I picked up the headset from the nearby Walmart the day after ordering it online at night from home. I had never used a headset before. One adapter that came with the phone should connect the headset to the audio card/function of my computer enabling me to make online calls. This headset worked well. Stylish or pretty? What you see is what you get. :) Other headsets that I might have been able to get from area stores cost 4 to 10 times more. Technically this is an earset since the ear (either ear) supports and positions it rather than the head.

Converted Plantronics Snob

• My earsets from the $150 Plantronics Mirage (for PBX & w/adapter for USB Skype) were fine & maybe was tad more comfy overall (& had the voice tube). But for the price (& no included USB adapter) forget it. I also had their cheaper unit ($35) for Panasonic cordless use, but it just quit mid-call after a few years. • So looking for an economical replacement (for cordless mostly) I found this. With it's included adapter cords for mobile & computer, it's amazing, including Skype (if your computer has mini jack inputs in addit'n to USB). • I doubt there's anything GE about this unit except the printing on the packaging. But it works well - and the mike boom is (gently now) bendable for better mic voice pick-up. • For the price, you could go thru a few of these for Plantronics & others. • Was sure it would be taken back but was surprisingly pleased. • Getting it on the ear & situated the first few times is tricky - but finally you get it & it's no problem. Sound Q is good listening & tx'mitting. • Rare to find such a price-point gem.
