Styrofoam?
My husband hooked it up on about 20 min and it started as very warm air then I left it on for awhile and it was giving out very cold air. But I can see inside the air conditioner through where the air comes out and it's all styrofoam. I don't know anything about air conditioners but are they supposed to have that all inside? You can see the pics. It also comes with a remote and I really like the plug buttons to shut off the plug so my kids don't keep playing with it. It's strong and made my 2 bedrooms in the fixed attic very cold. I'm very happy with the purchase.

DON'T BUY IT!!
I would give it '0' stars but it wouldn't let me write a review without giving atlease one star. DONT BUY IT!! The information on line, the box, and instructions say it will fit a 36" window. The wings only span to a max of 30". Hired someone to make it fit in the window. More disappointments, on the highest fan speed and coolest setting, barely 'blows' at all. My little $139 cheapie by Artic Air is far superior. Cheapie is being reinstalled.

So far so great..

Have had this installed in about 20ish hours now, and it is so far doing the job. Live in a small apartment and has cooled it nicely to even needing a blanket to cover with when sitting around. Well worth the try to anyone.

Worth it

I have a big room it works good

The air conditioner came in great condition. No dents, No cracks, however the box was fully opened on the side. It is a little noisy but it does the job. It cools the attic. I was actually cold at one point. I would say it's a great air conditioner for the price. I'm happy about this purchase.

GE air conditioner 6000 BTUs model AHWO6LZ

Air conditioner is loud and noisy, this is the first day of my GE 6000 BTU I will wait and see how good it cools. Glad its in my den and not my bedroom.

AC works but was dented

I received my AC on 6/2/20, I would of given it 5 stars but it came with several dents which I was disappointed about. The unit works fine so far and although the dents are unacceptable it is successful in keeping my room cool. Normally when I discover that I received damaged items I do not hesitate in returning them to the place of purchase, but I must say that everything that our country has been going through really made me realize that a dented air conditioner is really a small issue in the whole scheme of things. I really don't want to go through the whole hassle of a return only to get another item with another issue!! This being said, it's not ok that I received a damaged $200 item from your business, money doesn't come easy to people especially during tough times. The box I received the item in was a bit weathered which may be the direct result of the damaged item within.

The air conditioner itself is adequate for the intended purpose of cooling a small area. However, the sliding side enclosures which are intended to close the remaining portion of the window not occupied by the unit itself are certainly less than adequate. I would suggest closing the side curtain areas with Styrofoam panels both to close off the gaps in the side curtains between the unit and the window frame and stop the flow of conditioned air from the room to the outside. Also, it would be nice if the conditioned air could be directed upward instead of straight out of the unit changed only by the adjustment knob to side to side flow. See the as installed with Styrofoam and the removable baffle I created and installed to create upward flow.

Very Cool but Poor Fit

Blows 42F degree air but doesn't sit flat in a common vinyl replacement window. Quiet: almost no sound when compressor kicks on and off (no "bang"). After a power failure, it returns to the last state (works with the TP-LINK Mini Wi-Fi Smart Plug HS105). Display goes black under normal operation (no way to have it on full-time). It would have been 5-star if I didn't need to spend hours adapting it to a typical window.

Will not fit up to a 36 inch window!!

This unit arrived with a large dent and as another reviewer said this will not fit a window 36" wide, with the extenders at the max. The frame of the side panels is wide enough, but the accordion style piece inside there will not stretch that far, so the max you can get this to fit is maybe a 32 inch wide window. (see attached pic.) This wouldn't be as big of a deal if buying a window kit to replace it were cheap but they run about $50. Also, as I tried to stretch the accordion piece to fit the window, one of them just ripped. They are also not thick and a lot of air and bugs from outside will come through from the gaps above and below the insert. The conditioner itself seems to work okay, I have only been able to use it without the side panels so I can't really tell on that.
