I bought this shelf for my son's room as a tv stand / bookshelf organizer as he has a very small room. I took it out and I was anxious because I have had builds that were nuts because screws and holes didn't line up. Well I am here to tell you that wasn't the case in this build AT ALL. Everything lined up and you had to give bit a muscle with a Phillips screw driver but the directions were pretty easy (especially if you're used to looking at Lego schematics!) You have the option of free standing this piece or anchoring it to the wall. Two of the last pieces have hooks on them and I think I put them on backwards because they are not on the same side for anchoring. However, for the function I need it for and the way I placed the cube, it wasn't an issue, but it is easy to mix up the last pieces if you are not careful. A little tricky to do on your own balance wise to hold the boards, but again if you've had a Phillips in your hand once or twice you'll be fine. It took me less than 30 minutes to fully assemble. It comes in a flat little box so you can easily carry it a distance if need be. I did put a goodly amount of weight on it and it did not bow in the middle... and this is because their are multiple bracing boards in the middle so this little piece is quite sturdy. The only downside to it is the width of the shelves I would have liked another 2-3" but for the money, sturdiness and versatility---it will be around for quite a while. It magically organized my kid's room that's for sure!
