GREAT on African American Natural Hair!!!

READERS PLEASE DON'T GET OFFENDED. I put African American in the title of my review because I always thought of Garnier to be for Caucasian people or for people who have the same texture of hair. I'm proud to say that Garnier has proved me wrong. My daughter is African American and had hair down her back when she was younger. The texture of her hair is curly. But it can still be styled into an afro. LOL! But it was impossible to manage. So, I got it permed when she was about 9 yrs old. It was one of the BIGGEST mistakes I've ever made in my life. Her hair kept breaking until I just let the relaxer grow out altogether. Now, she is all natural. I began taking her to a salon to get her hair flat ironed because we couldn't find a good hair product that would allow her to achieve the straight look she desired. But that got too expensive. So, we began using another product (Tresemme Keratin Smooth Flat Iron Spray) to flat iron her hair with. That's a great product too. But, if it wasn't applied to her entire head of hair, it woud cause breakage. So, I decided the best solution would be to deep condition her hair before applying the product she uses to straighten it. I saw Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser Strength Reconstructing Butter Hair Mask in WalMart and decided to give it a try. And the only thing I can say is WOW! After applying it, she can comb right through it without a problem. If you were to see the before and after pics of my daughter's hair, you wouldn' believe it. Just beautiful!!! You can feel and see the difference. She or I usually style it and it looks just like she went to a salon. I HIGHLY recommend this product.

    Not sure about this one!

I really wanted to love this product and wanted it to work, but it just didnt. My hair is very long ( way past my butt ) and very damaged from being straightened over and over again. So maybe my hair was just to damaged and beyond repair for. I do think Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser Strength Butter would've worked on me if my hair wasnt as damaged as it is. However i did give give this product 3 stars because its smells absoluetly amazing, it was easier to manage my super long hair while the product was in my hair in the show ( my fingers slid right through without getting caught up in tangles ), i noticed less hair fell out of my head when i sbowered, and also because i really truly believe this product would work if my hair wasnt as long and as immensely damaged as it is. Although i wasnt extremely satisfied with Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser Strength Butter i would still recommend this product other people because i believe it work on people with a little less damaged hair then myself. Pleasantly surprised with my thick hair

So first off let me tell you why I'm giving it 4 stars and not 5. When I received it I immediately opened it to smell (I'm weird like that) and there was no sealed lining under the lid like there usually is in a hair conditioning treatment. Not a huge deal but I would prefer to know my product is safe. The instructions on the product are too vague. It does not state how much to use (I used about as much as I do with shamooo) and it does not say how often to repeat the treatment. That being said... I was pleasantly surprised. The smell is great and texture is perfect. I have really long thick hair that is dry and tends to break easily so I was pretty skeptical that I would noticed any difference in one use. I brushed and blew dry my hair right after my shower and it was very soft and shiny. I also noticed that all my little "baby hairs" around my face were not sticking straight up like they usually do. I can't say the ends of my hair look any different but I'm in love with the way my hair feels. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

    Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser

I have given Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser Strength Butter a fair shot at softening my thick, somewhat heat-damaged hair. When I opened it, I quickly realized how thick, but lightweight the product felt. It smelled amazing, the distinct Garnier Fructis smell - somewhat citrusy. The first time I used the product, it seemed like I didn’t rinse enough. There was a film on my hair and my hair seemed pretty stiff while rinsing under water, not soft at all like when I usually rinse. It wasn’t until my hair was dry that I realized my hair felt pretty nice. I tried the product again, and the same thing: my hair felt stiff underwater and as if there was a film left on it. Then only when it was styled and dry did my hair seem like it had been conditioned. I’ve defintely used better hair masks, and even like my regular conditioner better than the performance of Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser Strength Butter, but the smell is amazing and, once dried, my hair did look shiny and soft. My favorite deep conditioner but...

I've been using this for years and now I cant find it in stores. What a shame. I really wish I could find it because it made my hair feel amazing I am honestly so disappointed . This was the only one I use now I'm using loreal to 5 repair. It's good but not as great as the damage eraser.
