I have been using Frontline Plus for my puppy CoCo and it works great. If i were to get it from the Vet, it would be almost twice the price; so getting it at Walmart is great, never knew they had it till I checked! She is only 5 pounds so I have to use the smallest dose for her (She is a Morkie, I yorkie and a maltese mix) but she is pretty much used to the application now though it still makes her itch a little bit, probably because she isn't used to having oil there. At first it did seem like quite a bit, but after a few hours it looked like it was completely absorbed and I usually wait a week until I give her a bath (though Vet says 3 days is sufficient) CoCo doesn't roll around in leaves too much anyways. She loves the house and I love Frontline! No ticks and no fleas! Oh and be sure to use shampoo-free...shampoo so the Frontline has the best effect!

Walmart sells it for less than any other website or veterinarian Frontline Plus provider. As for the product itself, it works as promised. We take our little doggy to the dog park and to play outdoors and he has had no problems with flee infestations (haven't seen a single one yet). For a tip on use on a small hair-type dog, I'd say to try parting the hair as much as possible because if you don't it will spread/smear and make the dogs hair look dirty/oily - and it doesn't go away with washing.

I purchased this product SPECIFICALLY due to the excellent review marks it got on this website and Amazon. After administering product as recommended I was horrified at the results. FLEAS LOVE THIS STUFF!! It seems it attracted more fleas instead of killing them! After two weeks of the horrific experience of this product I take our bully to the vet. Vet explains that this stuff should've been taken off the market years ago as the fleas have developed immunity to this product (at least in the ATL area). WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY!! The oral medication given by vet works and WELL worth the cash. Of course after my experience I see all the terrible reviews on consumer reports.

I am not sure if Frontline's formula has changed or if the fleas are just more resilient this year. I applied Frontline to all of my pets after a thorough bath but I am still seeing fleas. My cats are indoor only and my dogs go out on a leash. Last year I only had to use Frontline one time and never saw a flea again. I would recommend Frontline over other monthly flea treatment applications but keep in mind it may take several months or even all year long before you can stop the fleas.

  • A. Hi! Hope my answer helps: I have a 5 pound morkie (shes a yorkie and maltese mix) and I've been using this on her ever since she was a puppy of about 2 months and she's almost 8 months now. It works great she does not really like the oily feeling that much but it absorbs fairly quickly and she forgets that its there. make sure you use shampoo-free shampoo so that the frontline works the best, sometimes it can wash out, my Vet said, if you don't use shampoo free. 7 pounds is just fine; pretty sure this is the smallest dose and my dog hasn't had any fleas, ticks or side effects from this product.

  • A. My Sister who is a Vet told me one time to buy a larger dogs size and you half of one does on one dog and the other half on the other dog - using that advice she gave me I say yes--only use 1/2 of a dose for your dog for the whole month - this way a six mohth supply would last you all year.

  • A. The labeling here is actually incorrect (and the same for other websites for this sizing of dog). The actual box says for dogs 0-22 pounds. (Can you imagine a dog weighing 0 pounds??) But, see my review of this product here (one star) before purchasing, to see MY opinion of this product.

  • A. There is a problem with Walmarts description of the weight for this Frontline Plus. The ORANGE packaging is for small--- dogs and puppies 8 weeks and older and UP TO 22 pounds. I use this on my 10 pound poodle/terrier mix and there have been no problems. Make sure you get the ORANGE packet.
