Never have seen a flea or tick on the dogs, while using this product ... and we walk them on public areas and sidewalk where other dogs go. It seems to work without giving them side FX that we can tell. Been using this stuff for many years without any apparent down side.

This product works great. I could notice after using it the dogs were not scratching and seemed to be so relaxed and comfortable.

We've used this product on our dog for the past 5 years. She spends a lot of time with us in tall grass and forested areas and never gets fleas. The rare tick just falls right off. Even when the conditions are such that we have to use 100 percent DEET to keep ticks off of us, our dog remains tick free. We've tried other products on our dogs in the past but none of them work as reliably as Frontline. It's a little expensive but worth the money. We never have to be concerned about our dog bringing any kind of bug into the house.

    • A. most vets say yes, but I don't. Spring thru Fall every month when fleas are active outdoors. After first freeze about Oct-Nov, then no need to use.

    • A. They advise yes. I work with dogs and have 3 dogs and I'll give you a straight answer. Fleas die when the temp. reaches below 60 degrees for a 24 hour period. So if you don't have fleas in your home and don't have dogs coming over that could bring fleas from their house, then I'll say no. I'm not too sure about ticks, but I'm pretty sure they also die off in the winter also. My clients dogs and my personal dogs never used it in the winter and fleas and/or ticks have never been a problem. Keep this in mind, no matter how you want to look at it, any flea agent is a pesticide therefore a poison, however mild, so I tend to use as sparingly as possible.

    • A. Your vet may recommended it, but I don't use it doing the winter.

    • A. I do not use Frontline or any other flea/tick product on my dog in the winter. There are no tick or flea problems during the long winters where I live. I would rather not subject the dog to chemicals unnecessarily, and it helps keep costs down. Even when I lived in a more temperate climate I did not put Frontline or any other product on my dog during the coldest months, typically December, January, and February.
