I use FrogTape frequently. It is great for delicate surfaces. I use it in my art work and I have never been disappointed. Like all tape, it will pull off some surface if it left on too long -which I found out when I left it on the closet walls for several months!

Yellow Frog Tape for Artists
If you do paint by number; yellow frog tape can be your friend! I had used the blue tape before-but noticed it "pulled" the paper off what I was painting. The green tape was just as bad! I finally got smart and called the manufacture and was told Walmart sold the product! I am very happy I did my research! The yellow frog tape is perfect for paint by number--it will NOT pull the paper off like the blue or green frog tapes!
Worked for me!
I almost didn't buy this stuff due to the negative reviews, but gave it a shot and it worked just fine.
I wanted the ceiling one color and the walls a second color. I painted the ceiling first with two coats of latex. I waited 48 hours, then applied the tape over the freshly painted ceiling. I then trimmed in my latex wall coat right up to the edge of the tape. I let that dry just long enough to apply a second trim coat. As soon as I was done with coat number 2, I removed the tape while the wall paint was still wet and was left with a nice clean line. The tape removed easily and didn't pull down any of the new paint it was adhered to so it worked as it should. The only negative I can find is that I wish the tape was a little more flexible to make it easier to apply to edges that are not perfectly straight, but this is a minor point.
I think people that have trouble with this tape aren't using it properly. The key is to remove the tape as soon as possible once you've cut in your edge. Get the job painted and get the tape off ASAP and it will work fine. I'll use this stuff again.
I have used FrogTape several times in the past without issue. This time I painted my crown moulding and let it dry for 2 weeks, then I proceeded with taping the crown moulding with FrogTape delicate and multi surface medium adhesion as I ran out of delicate. I painted the walls and the peeled off the tape and guess what? It pulled the paint off of my crown mouldings in patches both where the delicate and medium adhesion were, now I get to spend another 4 days painting just my crown mouldings.
A very unimpressed customer! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
DID NOT STICK!
Took 3 hours to mask my whole house and when I was ready to paint, all the tape and masking was already starting to fall off the walls. It wouldn't stick at all.
Not as delicate as it says
Used this tape to paint my bathroom it pulled off the ceiling paint. I did a split paint and had no issues on the paint bleed line on fresh paint after being done a few days but then when I came to do the skirting board the satin paint just bleed through the tape and it also pulled off some of the fresh (3weeks old) paint off with it. Overall not what it says could of got 5 rolls of masking tape for price of this to do probably a better job. Maybe it was a faulty roll I'll never find out as won't be buying again [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Recently used Frogtape green on a geo-wall i made for my daughter in her room, was impressed so decided to do a geo-mural in my living room, thankfully nothing ambitiously huge. Removed tape which has also peeled off my base colour and will leave me spending the weekend trying to patch it up otherwise next weekend i shall need to paint the whole wall. I could just cry, a simple decorative piece has ruined my entire wall. I had used the delicate surfaces version too as i had been able to get another pack of the green tape due to the lockdown. Wish I'd just bought a cheap roll of masking tape now, budget, wall and mood for the weekend ruined!!!
Sticking (excuse the pun) to the "blue" tape.
My husband and I are DIY-ers for many years and decided to try the FrogTape Delicate Surface, 1.88" x 60 yd. for our latest powder room painting. We purchased this item because we were drawn to the yellow packaging and the way they compared their product to the "blue" tape that my husband and I used for years. Our ceiling is lightly textured and we've used the "blue" tape on all our projects with satisfied results and not much bleeding onto the ceiling. I used the FrogTape on all the ceiling surface making sure it adhered to the textured ceiling the way I've done many times before. Pictures of the outcome after the 2nd day was quite disappointing. We now have to go back and paint with a fine brush as the wall color bled onto the white ceiling. The moral of the story? Stick to products you use time and again. We're going back to the "blue" tape for all our painting projects.
The tape Ripped ALL paint off wall
Spent the extra money to get the really good frog tape for fresh paint. Then STOPPED using the no name stuff that was working fine to try this new high end tape. And I kid you not, this frog tape striped the wall right down the drywall! Adding atleast another days work to the job, I now have to sand and chip the flakes off, possibly fill the sand the holes, prime the drywall and then retape and repaint, all on part of the job that was finished!
Super unhappy with this tape, especially considering it's one of the most expensive on the market . [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
