I wanted a smaller one to pack on vacations because motel air conditioners often have their evaporator drain clogged, so it slings all that moisture back into the room. Rather than fuss with the motel staff about it, I'm using this to bring down room humidity. I try not to be alarmist but, what if the previous occupants had the virus? Would it live on in the water tray? Dry room for me, thanks!

We typically get allergens in through the sunroom and garage, so one unit for each. It has drastically made a difference in our household! We saw and felt an immediate improvement in our breathing, in how much the AC was running. We bought the small ones because we are planning to run on continuous drip drain once we figure out where it is best utilized. We have brought the one from the garage into the main house and, no matter where it is, it has benefited us. It's perfect for Summertime in Florida

Dehumidifier for basement
keith2954 - 4 out of 5 stars review3/4/2021As of 3/3/2021 The item pictured on the webpage is not the item for sale. That is a very large 50 pint dehumidifier with a built in pump and a top exhaust. This unit exhausts the dehumidified air out the side and angled down slightly so that it hits the floor about 6 feet from the unit. So you have the ability to point the stream of air in the direction you want it to go. Which is an advantage or disadvantage depending on what your trying to accomplish. Very noisy for the first few hours then the compressor got fairly quiet. It's a rhythmic up and down low pulsing instead of a steady hum. The fan on high drowns out what little compressor noise there is. There were no rattles or weird noises. My sample had no water leaks and collect...

I feel very good impression of this old dehumidifier, so I picked up the new model from the current Frigidaire lineup. Then, since I was assuming that 70pt capacity of the old one is overkill for our current usage, I chose down-sized 22pt capacity here. In fact, fiirst I felt that this unit showed a bit lower dehumidifying power than our old unit. However, it turned out that I realized that it suffices our usage. Therefore, we are well satisfied with buying this model. This down-sizing would give us a couple of the benefits such as low electricity consumption and quietness. Just for your note, ...
