    Great motivation

I initially bought this to not only track my steps, but because it's also a sleep tracker. It's great motivation, but because it has to sync up with your computer, it's hard to see your progress through the app as the day progresses. It has encouraged me to take more steps daily, drink more water (because of the app), and to work towards having a better sleep schedule. Some good things are: band is comfortable, it is water resistant, the app is a great tool to track your water and food consumption. The draw backs are, as mentioned above, it does not sync with the app unless you're near the USB plug. It makes it harder to track the total amount of steps you've taken while you're out and about. If you use your hands/arms a lot while standing or sitting, it will give you an inaccurate reading. In an hour and a half of delivering newspapers, it said I had taken over 12,000 steps. Some reviews have stated that it doesn't do as good as a job as the Fitbit One, I just see it as a way of encouraging you to take more steps towards being healthy.

    Great Motivator

I was at a point where I wasn't losing or gaining weight and was at a stalemate. I had been seeing ads for the fitbit and thought it might be worth it to take a chance on it. I decided on the Flex just because I like wristband style so I can put it on and forget it. After the first day I don't even realize that I am wearing it, and the only time I take it off is to charge the battery, which for me is only about every 6 days. The Flex seems to be fairly accurate on steps taken and distance walked. The sleep monitor feature is nice, well, it tells me how much sleep I am not getting! The last cool thing about the Flex is I linked the Flex with My Fitness Pal app so keeping up with calories and exercise is now much easier. I now find myself parking a little farther away and walking and just being more motivated to get up and be more active. If you like gadgets and need some motivation the Flex for what it is and for the price is a good deal.

    Keeps Me Motivated!

I absolutely LOVE my Fitbit Flex! The battery life on it is around 5 days, I have owned it for just over 2 months now and I have no problems thus far. The app that you can download and sync with your Fitbit is very easy to use. It is thorough and gives you a breakdown of steps taken, miles walked, calories burned, active minutes, exercise tracking, sleep tracker, calories eaten, calories burned and when you input a "goal weight" it tracks that too. The food database is up to date and I only encountered 3 food items that was not in the database and I could upload it with a simple scan and snapping of pics. I always knew I had bad sleep and my fitbit seems to keep track of times awake, times restless and overall sleep quality pretty accurately even when I forget to put it in sleep mode. I definitely recommend this if you are like me, wanting to shed some weight as well as have a lifestyle change because overall it is everything you need to stay motivated. It even sends you little congratulations emails when you DO lose wight. You can also have some healthy competition with you fellow fitbit owner friends and family and issue challenges. It really has changed my life.

    Everything I wanted!

I waited for awhile to review this product because so many of these activity monitors start out great and end up having many problems. It has only been 2 weeks, so if it continues like this I will be ecstatic! It was very easy to setup, syncing with my MAC, IPHONE or IPAD has been easy. The Flex has performed as claimed. I had a little checking to do on the tapping for sleep, etc but that was simple once I read thru the steps. I have left it on in the shower and it has been fine. At this point I have even decided to start using the food logging on the app. The reports are easy to review, comprehensive and easy to make changes to. I did have the UP (2nd gen) for about a year and a half and although the band was great when working, it was always presenting issues. I had to have it replaced within the first few months and then the new one always need something done to get it to sync again. I am glad that I decided on the FLEX and hope it continues to perform as it does now. I would definitely recommend buying this for people who want the extra motivation sometimes necessary to move more and stay in shape.

    Disappointed & Inaccurate

Bought the FitBit Flex to keep me to stay motivated. I had been using a Free App on my phone to track my calories and fitness, but was hoping for something more accuarate.. While spending a day at home mostly on my couch all day besides normal walking to my bathroom, kitchen, it said I had burned 1300 calories.(no way was that even possible). That night I went to the gym and did KILLER workouts for 1 hour 20 minutes, (it said I had only 6 active minutes). The only feature I did like was the sleep tracker (but if everything else was inaccuarate, I would also assume that the sleep tracker was as well). THe only thing I truly did like was the silent alarm. I set my alarm to wake up in the morning and it vibrates and only wakes me instead of everyone in my house. I will be returning today and Will continue to use my Free App on my phone. For $100 I was hoping for more.
