    not what i expected.

Wish I could have seen this in action before I bought. I'd probably return if I hadn't thrown away the box. Was expecting the balls to pop around some at top but they just dump all at once. No popping. Action is over before my daughter knows what's going on. Doesn't hold her attention long. I think 6 months is a very young rating for this. Would recommend 18 months and up so child can find all balls and put them back on top to activate. My one year old needs me to collect and put them up top for her. Doesn't offer much independent play at this stage for her. Wish I would have bought the ball popping dinosaur instead.

    Better than I expected

My son received this as a gift when he was 6 months old. He was a little young for it at the time, but very soon after he began to enjoy playing with the balls and pulling up on the toy. Putting it together was extremely easy until the final step which was to screw the legs into the top of the toy. The holes were much too small and my husband had to step in and use some muscle to force them in. That's the only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. Other than that, this toy is sturdy (unlike what other people are saying in their reviews#, spills the balls out just like I think it's designed to #again unlike what some other reviews have stated) and my son is still in LOVE with it 5 months later.

    Not what I expected

When I first saw this on the shelf, I thought that my two children could play with it together and it would be fun. I have had it opened and assembled for a total of 15 minutes and both children are extremely bored. I thought the balls would come out of the inside but they simply fall over the top. It takes the same exact movement to get the balls to fall off the platform and it is a simple roller. It's so very boring. Once the balls reach the bottom, they have to pick them back up and put them back on the platform. It's the same boring action over and over. The music is nice but there are other toys that require more interaction in order to get the music to play and that is something that would hold their interest a lot longer. I would love to wrap it up and take it back to the store but my aunt ordered it and will consider the return of a gift to be rude.

I am returning this for a refund.

Within two minutes after I assembled it me and my husband decided to take it back for a refund. The balls only pop out when a wheel is turned, which was fine because he would learn in time to do that. However, to stand up with it the only place he could put his hands to stabilize himself was dead center on the popper making it impossible for it to do its job. Even after we sat him down and would spin the wheel for him it still didn't work properly. The balls would either miss the legs completely or just bounce off one of the pegs and go rolling across the floor. Long story short I would skip this one and spend the money somewhere else.

    Best Purchase Ever

The Fisher-Price Stand-Up Ballcano™ isn't exactly what I expected because of it's name. Instead of spewing balls out of the top like a volcano, the balls roll from the top and down the sides of the legs, each having a different path for the balls to take before they are either caught in a tray at the base or roll off unpredictably (much like lava would flow, I suppose). The toy kept both of my boys entertained for quite a while. My oldest son enjoys collecting the balls and putting them all in the top and he can hardly wait to make them all roll down again! My youngest son enjoys all of the different music that the spinner plays. A great toy for someone with two kids in the toy's recommended age group. I had a lot of fun playing with them by chasing down the runaway balls. This toy definitely teaches sharing!

    Waste of money

Got one of these for my daughter because she loves ball toys but it really doesn't do much. She plays with it for a couple minutes then gets bored with it. The balls also don't stay on the toy like they are supposed to and roll all over the place, that could be part of the problem with why she looses interest so easy with it.

    What a great toy!

It always amazes me how sophisticated a toy you can get for under $50. The Ballcano plays a bunch of great songs - and they really are great songs - my daughter danced for the first time ever while holding on to her Ballcano. And it pops up all the balls and they fall down the different legs - very fun! It does require some help from Mommy or Daddy to play, including chasing down balls that jump out, but it is a lot of fun. And there are a couple ways to play the music so it works for a wide age range. This is the first Christmas present my daughter ever opened and she still loves to play with it over a year later. And she has pushed on the top of it and abused it pretty good and it is still going strong!

Not good play value for the money

I bought the stand-up ballcano when my daughter started wanting to stand while playing. It captured her attention for about 5 minutes the first day. Since then, she's barely touched it. The music is cute, she'll dance to it if she happens to accidentally bump into it and turn it on while playing with something else. If she does actually play with it for a few minutes, the balls don't stay in the legs when they roll down, so they end up stuck under the furniture. I'm quite disappointed with this product, for the money I spent on it I could have purchased an activity table with more play options.

    Not What I Expected

I had high hopes when we purchased this because I thought it was similar to the Poppity Pop Dinosaur, which my daughter loved. I thought that the yellow part that held the balls bounced, but I was disappointed to find that it just lifted up spilling the balls over the top. The product is colorful and plays catchy rocket ship music and held my daughter's attention for a short period of time. She would put the balls in and they would spill over the top, but mostly onto the floor. They would roll away and she would lose interest before going to retrieve the balls to play again.

This product is built very sturdily. My daughter loved to use it to pull herself up when learning to stand. She is now a year old and stands at the Ballcano and dances to the music. The music is actually okay to listen to, and she loves the good beats they have (and we hear this music daily, so glad it's not annoying)! My daughter only plays with it by herself for about 10 minutes but it's great when you play together! She dances, crawls after the balls, throws them to me. The ballcano also fits into a small space, and I love the bright colours.
