With spring in the air and wanting to start planting, this trowel arrived in time. I've held it and I've pushed it into the dirt and it was comfortable to use. So far I'm very happy with it. I like the feel and rubber grip, it's very comfortable to hold and it doesn't slide around in your hand. I also like that each side of the trowel is different; a smooth side and a serrated side for cutting into harder dirt or light roots. Most trowels last me one season because the handle breaks off while digging, this one seems to be very well made. I'm liking it and recommend it for light garden duty.

Simple design that works
The Expert Gardener Steel Trowel is strong and sturdy and everything you need in a good trowel. The steel neck is thick and I can't imagine there's anything anyone could try to dig up with this trowel that could bend it. The plastic handle has a hole in the end so you can hang it from a hook, nail, or possibly a tool belt. There's a serrated side to the blade in case you need to tear at anything you're trying to dig up. The blade is somewhat rounded and dull which is fine for most digging, but worth pointing out in case you were looking for a trowel with a sharp tip or thin blade to slice into really firm clay, etc. Otherwise look no further because this trowel is everything you're looking for.
Excellent Functional Garden Shovel
What an great shovel/trowel to work with, I consider myself a gardener not an expert in the field but I enjoy spending time making things grow. I did some garden work today and I was able to pull up my weeds around the tree without a lot of arm power. Here in N.C. a lot of the dirt is clay, so it tends to be very hard normally I have a bit of a struggle, not this time. This trowel fits comfortably in the hand, though it does not appear to be sharp it digs deep. It is sturdy so even when I hit my tree trunk it did not bend. Handle offers a thumb grip area. Thanks spark review, I am going to purchase another.
Durable Garden Trowel
This garden trowel is very comfortable and easy to use. When I was originally deciding if I wanted this trowel, my husband mentioned that it didn't look too durable with the skinny handle. I thought it would be okay as we already have a heavy duty trowel, but that one is too large for my grip. And especially since we don't do too much gardening at our house I wasn't worried. When I received this trowel, it was much more comfortable for me to use as it was lighter weight and had a slimmer handle. But, I was very surprised to see how strong this trowel is, it seems much stronger than I had expected, even stronger than our "heavy duty" trowel. Since the old trowel we had is a hand me down and probably a couple generations old, I guess they have improved the technology of trowels since then. Also, I like that this trowel is a bright yellow, so its not easily forgotten in the garden. I think both experienced and inexperienced gardeners alike will be happy with this product. Overall, this is a great trowel, not too big, but still very strong, and especially for an inexpensive price.
Trowel for everyone
I am actually a beginner gardener. This trowel will work great for our projects. We are planning on using it for transferring our seedlings to a garden. The trowel will work great for digging the small hole that we need.
The features of the spade are great too. I appreciate it's heavy/sturdiness of it. It's not flimsy or soft. It is made of steel. So that is helpful. I've only used it a couple of times but, the handle seems to be manufactured and engineered well. Enough at least where it won't come off in a couple of rough uses. The handle has a good gripping spot for your thumb as well. The handle is also shaped for your hands. It gives your hand the ability to dig well.
We have used the trowel with our sprinkler system. The hardware or the irrigation control box was full rocks because of out sweet children. The trowel was the right size to get all of those rocks out without causing any serious problems.
Our children also have a tendency to want to use the equipment we use. The trowel is not sharp on the end. I appreciate that part for the children.
Overall a pretty nice trowel.
