Very reliable battery in 1999 Subaru North East

My MAXX 35N battery is just over 11 years old! I do use a Battery Tender Jr. at all times while it is parked in a garage... which is a BIG reason it has lasted so long. It is now just showing it's age with not getting to the fully charged voltage of 13.2Volts from the tender. But it still holds voltage above 12.6v with out charger. (normal healthy 12V battery voltage) It has been in my 1999 Subaru Legacy Wagon living in the North East. Never had any issues with starting even in -20F winter mornings. (I do not use a battery heater) I have no problem recommending this battery and would assume a solid 6+ years of life if treated properly without using a battery tender. I also originally bought it in 2006 because of Consumer Reports recommendation.

Rated very high by Consumer Reports

So I have just purchased this battery and everything went great. The N after the 35 is to designate it is for the colder Northern Climates. A 'S' is for the warmer southern states, It was tested by Consumer Reports and it was rated very high overall and in the cold cranking amps. Since I live near Chicago it can get quite cold. This battery is an upgrade to my Wifes 2009 Honda Accord coupe which has a size 51R. The 51R size seems a little under rated. We have had her old battery not be enough power to start in the cold or if the car was not used for about 7 days. She does have a remote start installed which does costantly draw some power. I wanted this larger 53N battery in hopes to fix both issue. To install this 53N battery in the Honda a differnt bracket is needed ,Honda part number *31512-S0X-A00* which can be purchaed at the dealer for a few dollars. No other parts needed, even the plastic shield fit over this battery. Hope this helps someone. For me the average battery life has been around 5 years. I will post my results on this one.
This fit my 2012 Yaris perfect. The battery called for 26R is not as good a battery in CCA or reserve power as this Group 35 is.Walmart batteries have always given me long life is acutal use
Not good, I didn’t get 3 years from it. Since they don’t have any in stock I couldn’t get a warranty replacement.

my car starts every time now.

I bought the battery online and that was a mistake. It seemed to confuse the auto department when it came to a recycling refund. I had to go home (with the old battery in my trunk) and print off my receipt from the online transaction, then drive all the way back to Walmart with all my paperwork to get the transaction complete. I worked with different people when I returned (a week later .. I was in no hurry) and all they did was scan the receipt I received when the battery was installed. My online receipt wasn't necessary after all.
