So far so Good! Make sure you have the right battery charger for marine deep cycle batteries! You should be golden! Spent any where from 3 to 12 hours on water still fully charged!

Don't buy
I bought 3 of these in Sept 2012. March 2013 two are dead so I returned them, however, they only had 1 so I upgrade to the MAXX-29D since they have two of those. Got them holme and installed and 1 wouldn't take a charge. back to store to replace and no more MAXX-29 so I grab the single 29D and havethem check it ...it was bad. Go to another walmart store and get MAXX-29D. bring it home and drop it in the boat and it won't take a charge. I can't be the 1st person to notice a trned with these batteries from with a "4/12" sticker on them.

Good deal

This battery compares to those costing twice as much. It's a good, solid, strong battery that I envision having for a long time. It holds a charge very well. I would recommend this one, especially since It's less expensive than the group 27, which won't hold a charge as long.

1. No, this is not a maintenance free battery. There are two caps on the top of the battery that you can easily pry open with a flathead screw driver. You need to check the water level. If it is low, you need to add distilled water. I know this because I didn't add water and four of these from my solar power system went bad because of it. Make sure the battery is cool before you do this.

2. yes

3. you can tell by the vents and/or caps.FLA(flooded lead acid)has easily removable caps/vents for adding distilled water for routine maintenance this battery does not,it is AGM (absorbed glass mat)which has caps/vents not designed for easy removal for routine maintenance because of reduced gassing off

4. Good afternoon. Yes that is a maintainance free battery

5. NO!! It has removable caps on each cell. Flooded...

1. 690 cranking amps
by DaveDog3
2. CCA is 675. Unless you're boating in 0 degree F weather you're probably more interested in the MCA - Marine Cranking Amps - which is 845 measured at 32 degrees F.
by OldRock
3. My apologies - all my answers posted for this product are actually for the Everstart Maxx version, which is heavier and more powerful. I'll remove the answers if I can.
by OldRock
4. If you need a starting battery for your boat, you need a different type of marine battery. These batteries are intended for use with trolling motors and other accessories, solar power systems etc. The marine batteries used for cranking over your engine are just like your car batteries. They are not meant to be subjected to repeated deep discharge and recharge cycles. This battery is intended for applications that involve repeated deep discharge/recharge cycles. For engine starting you would want a marine battery, that does not list DC after the group size (ie: Group Size 29DC), such as the EverStart Maxx Group Size 29 Marine Battery. Hope this helps you.

5. Cold Cranking power for that battery is 675.

3. Sorry, my answer of 61 lbs is for the Everstart Maxx 29DC.
by OldRock
4. A little under 60 pounds.
