A great reliable car seat at a decent price
I needed a car seat for my 2 1/2 yr old son (about 23 lbs). I have a Nissan Versa Note so not a very big car. This car seat not only seemed compact but also has the integrated water bottle holder feature which is why I chose this car seat. Also I really like the color blue of the car seat. Make sure you turn over the car seat and look for date of manufacture. I bought in Oct and it showed an Oct date of manufacture, so am good. I've been using it for past 20 days with my son in it. Buckling him in and taking him out seem alright. Lot of people complain about getting their thumb cut on the knob that you press down to release the shoulder straps. Just be careful I guess. I've been fine. Also its easy to remove the straps and adjust them to whichever position you need. You'd do this first before installing the car seat. We chose the car seat belt option instead of the latch for securing car seat in the car. That was way more secure and the car seat doesn't move much if at all. My other pic should show how much space is left in the backseat after putting in the car seat. 3 can easily sit in the back seat of my small car. Great purchase. JUst a little miffed that the price dropped close to $20 a week after I purchased it. Hoping to get a refund. Let me see.

Left my 4 year old crying.
Being an overprotective parent I wanted to continue to keep my 4yo in a harnessed booster seat. I love Evenflo products and thought that this would be great. I found out quickly that it was not. I fixed the harness straps to accommodate my child, she is not a large 4 year old. I sat her in the seat and buckled her in, she begin to cry. She is used to a harness so it wasn't that, it was the straps digging into the side of her neck. When I unbuckled her after only a minute in the seat she had bright red streaks on the side of her neck where the straps had rubbed her. There was very little room between the straps once I started inspecting the chair for a solution. There was no solution to the problem. I returned the car seat.

I bought this seat about three weeks ago, and my granddaughter loves her new seat!

Awesome seat for bigger kids!

This is the 3rd Maestro I've purchased (one for grandma's car, one for grandpa's car, one for dad's car). My daughter rides comfortably with no complaints. She's 4 years old, just under 40lbs, but not quite ready for a belt positioning booster. I love that the internal harness goes to 50lbs. When she outgrows the harness, the seat can be converted to a belt positioning booster. The seat itself is lightweight and installation with the car's seat belt was a snap. We are very pleased with this seat!

perfect for older toddlers...

I bought this seat for my 4 & 1/2 year old daughter who refused to stay in a seatbelt. She is 35 pounds and 40 inches tall and since most of the 5 point harness ones only went to 40 pounds I would be turning around buying yet another one in a few months... this one is fantastic since it goes to 50 pounds and 50 inches with the harness. I even sat my almost 8 year old in it just to see how long I would be able to use it and he still fits too!! Love the color and the straps are real strong. It also fits real nice in my ford focus

Great booster car seat with a great price

I bought this for my 2 yr old daughter. We both love it! It doesn't sit up too high and she has plenty of room in the seat!! She loves the cup holders and sleeps very good in the seat!! I was iffy about her being able to sleep comfortably but she looks comfy and sleeps really good!!! Love, love, love this booster car seat!!!

TJ's parents

I love this toddler car seat. It took me some time to finally come to a decision. I did a lot reading, looking up different websites, different car seats, and reading reviews. Needless to say... I purchased this car seat, and is quite pleased. My 1 year old son loves it, it's comfy. The easy to reach cup holder in the front as oppose to the sides is a plus. Great product.

Great for full-time or spare car seat

We used this car seat for our second car. This car seat has a decent amount of padding compared to others at this price range. The seat belt provides good support for my son who is small for his age (due to being 7 weeks premature). The seat belt tension adjustment is fairly easy to use, but not as easy as some of the higher end Evenflo car seats. The cup holders works fairly well, but the front part is elastic and I can see some heavy drink spilling all over the back of the front seat if I had to brake hard. It has support for the head for when my son is sleeping and looks like it would provide add side impact support in an accident. As a whole, I think the Evenflo Maestro is a great car seat for the price and is comparable to others that cost much more.

This booster is superior to others.

I have always liked Evenflo products which is the reason I picked this harnessed booster seat. I prefer the harness to a seat belt because at 4, I just do not feel the seatbelt is appropriate for my daughter yet. I like this specific seat because it was designed well, it fits my daughter comfortably it leans back a tiny bit, which means if she falls asleep her head does not slump forward cutting off her airway. It is very nice looking, slightly slimmer than a convertible car seat. It feels sturdy and it has the option to use the seat belt when I feel my daughter is ready for that. My only complaint is the harness tensioner, it works just fine but I became accustomed to the turn knob tensioner, this one has a metal tab you pull a strap through. Overall I am very happy with this seat, I highly recommend it to friends and family. Even though it is twice as expensive as the cheaper seatbelt only boosters, it feels much more safe, and puts my heart at ease. It is very much worth the extra cost, but is extremely comparable in price to similar products by other companies. I considered another harnessed booster in which it transitioned to a backless booster, I chose this one because the price of this one plus the cost of buying a backless booster was much cheaper than purchasing the other product that did both.

Looks good, but difficult to buckle/unbuckle

This seat really looks nice. The dark red trim matches our car perfectly -- I was afraid it was going to be a brownish red from the online picture, but it's brighter than I thought. The two cup holders are also nice. I do have two complaints though. The buckle is not the old style, as shown in the photo, but is a newer style instead. It is too difficult for my four-year-old to fasten by himself. He could buckle himself into his old Evenflo seat, so it's disappointing that with this new seat we have to revert back to buckling him in ourselves every time now, rather than simply tightening up the straps after he's buckled himself in. I even have trouble getting it unbuckled myself. The other issue for us is that the straps dig into the side of his neck. We've tried moving the shoulder straps up/down a slot, but they are still tight there as well. Our son is very thin, so I can't imagine this seat fitting a larger-sized child comfortably. We're hoping that soft strap covers will help. If not, it looks like we'll be looking for another seat.

1. Yes. And it becomes removable when they grow too tall.
by bcanoe55
2. At the moment I am torn with this option for my almost 2 year old. If your child meets the weight/ height requirements then it's safe. However, my only issue is that the seat is a bit upright and would not be as comfortable for sleep. I am leaning towards a convertible option like the Cosco scenera next. This gives you the option of foward and rear facing (recommended until 2 years old.) In foward facing mode, it's much more reclined than the Maestro. My almost 4 year old can still fit in this seat but would outgrow it soon. She is 35 lb and 41 inches. The max for this seat is 40 lb/43 inches. Hope this helps.

3. Yes!
by Love77
4. I previously answered your question. If I'm reading it correctly, it says your child is 39 inches tall. That is pretty tall and he may outgrow the Cosco convertible option quicker than you would like. You can always purchase the maestro and trying it out. You can return it if it doesn't fit your needs.
by Love77
5. Yes as long as your 18 month old is fairly small or at least average on the growth scale or it won't last too long
by ElijahsMommie
6. not if u want to have a long term use

7. front only

8. Yes

9. This seat is for forward only facing. The safety recommendation is for children to rear face until 2 years of age. I would say this is not one that is good for an 18 month old. You need a convertible seat that can be forward facing when the time is right.

2. This is only for up to 50 lbs.

3. This carseat goes up to 50 lbs. My son is 4, 45 lbs and 50 inches tall. His head almost reaches the top of the carseat and is a little snug in the crotch area where it buckles. Check into the Graco Tranzitions, it adjusts higher.
by Dani
4. This is a grow type car seat. Parts can be removed to allow it to accommodate almost any child.

5. No, the harness rating is 50 pounds. You might want to check out the SureRide seat which goes up to 65 pounds.

1. Only when the internal harness is used. Installation as a belt-positioning booster requires the use of the lap and shoulder belt. Airlines only offer a lap belt.

2. Yes, if the internal harness is utilized.

3. It does not recline, but it has a slight recline built in, I found it to be comfortable for my daughter whether she was awake or sleeping.

4. Technically it's illegal to use non-EU approved seats in EU countries. If you're just visiting or in the military, you can definitely use it. Most cars there won't have pre-locking seat belts so you will need to use LATCH (called ISOFIX in the EU) or a locking clip if your child is over the LATCH weight limit.
