I'm pretty late in reviewing this car seat, but that's because I've been so busy using it! I've used several infant car seats in the past, and this one is by far my favorite. I used to be loyal to a different brand of car seat, and I've now converted to being loyal to Evenflo!
Pros:
The car seat cover and all the padding is extremely soft and comfy. I have no doubt that this seat is indeed comfortable for my little girl because she falls asleep in it soon after I put her in. She was too cramped with all of the inserts on her, particularly as a newborn, but I'm so glad that they were all included because I like the option of choosing what she needs to help her fit in the seat securely. As she grows bigger some items like the shoulder harness covers fit better and are more useful than when she's tiny. The canopy is responsive and quiet - it rarely wakes her up and doesn't get stuck like it does on some other car seats. The tightening strap runs smoothly and allows me to get just the right fit to pass the "pinch test." The base was extremely easy to install and is incredibly solid and the level line is easy to read. Based on the material I assumed this seat would get hot, but when we had it out in the hot summer sun it was cooler inside the seat than outside. The base is easy to install and with the lock-off feature I have no doubt the car seat is in solidly. The recline indicator is easy to use as well. I find this seat to be light and easy to carry. The Raven Jet color is very sleek and easily gender neutral.
Cons:
This seat isn't compatible with very many strollers. Although I love the idea of the chest clip that notifies you if you've left your child in the seat, it's not helpful unless you have a newer vehicle - and unfortunately I do not. That is obviously not a con if you have a newer vehicle.
Overall I love this infant seat and look forward to using it in the winter as well. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
