    Such a great vacuum!!!
I was pretty excited to get my new vacuum. I really liked the design and color which is what got my attention originally and it looked better in person. What I like most about my new vacuum is that it's on the heavier side but still slim design so it doesn't tip over. For some reason, my last vacuum doesn't allow me to vacuum under the dining room table; the bottom will lift off the floor so that meant I always had to pull out all of the heavy chairs every time I wanted to vacuum. Not anymore! The bottom of this is nice and heavy so I can vacuum and it stays flat against the floor saving me time and trouble! The tools part is pretty fun, I like that there is a level to switch from floor to tools. I also like the cord retractor! Its super easy to just click a button and the cord winds back up inside the machine again so clean up is really a breeze. It's just two clicks to empty the canister which is another huge plus! There are a few cons if you can call them that, hopefully they can be improved on the next model(s). Such as the additional wand pieces aren't connected securely so they often fall off when I'm using the vacuum. Also, it's a tiny bit loud but not as bad as some I've heard. Overall, I think this will be great for anyone. Both my carpet and bare floors were pristine!

    Good Suction But Many Problems
I was disappointed when I opened the box and saw that this vacuum has a power rewind for the cord. That is totally unnecessary in my opinion and the motor in the rewind adds weight to the vacuum which is very important to me since I am disabled! My cousin had just arrived when it was delivered so she tried it first. She is in very good physical shape and has no disabilities at all. She had a terrible time using the foot pedals and kept getting them mixed up. The power button is on the base along with a brush roller button to turn it off and on and the button to lay the vacuum down plus the button to clean the brush roller. We both agreed that it is so much better when the power button is up on the handle where you can easily reach it. That is where it is on all of my other vacuums and on her Dyson. At first she said the vacuum was really heavy but I had her turn the dial from the middle setting to the highest setting and she said it was better. The cord is long and that is a plus but it comes out on the left side so when you latch it thru the cord holder on the handle you end up trying to hold it with your right hand while you hold the vacuum or looping it around where it is in the way but you can hold it with your left hand. This might be a plus for lefties. The attachment hose is wonderful! It pulls out easily and doesn't tangle because it is not just one solid piece of plastic but clear plastic with round inserts every half inch or so that keep it open. Unfortunately it would be much better if it were longer and they only give you 1 extension wand so you can't reach very far at all. I've never purchased a vacuum that only had 1 extension wand before. On the plus side this vacuum pulls out dirt, dust and hair far better then any other vacuum I've ever used. The canister filled up quickly and I was amazed that there was that much dirt still left in my carpeting since I'd vacuumed and had the carpets cleaned before getting this new vacuum. Emptying the canister was very easy, it was lightweight and I didn't have a mess at all. My other bagless vacuum canister is really heavy, messy and hard to open so I did appreciate this. One thing that I do wish vacuum manufacturers would do though is to attach a small brush with a long handle to the canister so that you could get all of the dirt out of the crevices when you clean it. It would be nice to have it attached instead of having to go find one every time you empty the canister. The filter on the top became dusty after the first time I used the vacuum so I took it out and rinsed it off. It took 3 full days to dry! So beware of getting it wet if you are going to need to use your vacuum sooner then 3 or 4 days later. I also had a tough time getting the canister put back together. The arrow on the inner piece fits into an arrow on the right side of the canister - not the front which is where I assumed it would be. Once I found the arrow it still didn't go on correctly but eventually snapped into place. Being able to turn the roller on and off is great for when you use the attachments and there is a big dial on the side that allows you to choose vacuuming floors or using the tools. Both my cousin and I really liked that. The tools that come with it are the narrowed wand, the brush and the upholstery brush (which works very well). The upholstery brush made a loud whine but other then that this vacuum was NOT overly noisy or any louder then any other vacuum I've ever heard. The brush cleaning option works really well and it cleaned the brush within a few seconds. One huge minus that I noticed when I was cleaning the canister was that there is a filter underneath it that is called an exhaust filter and you must replace it every 6-12 months! It apparently can't be cleaned and you can't use the vacuum without it. This filter along with the other problems I encountered make this vacuum one that I couldn't possibly recommend. My cousin didn't like it all and said she preferred her Dyson. So the pro's are that it really cleans your carpeting well, the brush cleaning option works great, you can turn the brush roller on or off and the canister is easy to clean but the con's are the short reach for the tools attachment, the power cord winder, too many buttons at foot level plus the power button down there instead of on the handle, and the exhaust filter that you have to purchase every 6-12 months.

Promise made & promise kept, best vacuum by far

When my Eureka Suction seal vacuum arrived, I found myself very skeptical. I have had Eureka before, and was not always pleased. The manufacturer boasts that it has suction seal, and brush roll cleaner, and what interested me most was the claim that it eliminated and reduced scattering of dirt, and particles etc. I immediately wanted to put my Eureka to the test. Having two very messy indoor cats, my first test was to be on all of the scattered litter that my cats have strewn about. What I found was the suction seal did actually perform extremely well. When I vacuumed over the litter, the Eureka actually picked up everything in it's path. More to the point it did not throw or scatter the litter, it sucked everything into the vacuum with ease. The Eureka seemed to actually pull the litter, and the hair from the sides, and into the vacuum. Excellent. I was very surprised and impressed with the performance of the Eureka suction seal vacuum. This vacuum is so easy to use and was not as loud as most other vacuums that I have purchased. With a wider vacuum head and with the attachments mounted directly on the vacuum itself, I was pleased with how easy it was to go from the carpet, to the tile, then quickly pull the hose off of the clip, and add an attachment to go directly from the floors to the drapes and then to the baseboards and everything else in the room. With the length of the 80 plus inch hose and the 27 foot retractable cord, I was able to clean nearly two very large rooms without moving the plug. The brush roll cleaner was so easy to use, simply step on the pedal for 10 seconds and you are done. It actually works great. I have hair that is down well past my waist, cleaning the vacuum brush was always a difficult task, but not with the Eureka brush roll cleaner. It was amazing. It seemed to chop it up and the roll was completely clean. Emptying the canister, [dust cup], was also just a push of a button, this releases the container, empty it and snap back into place. The filter in the canister is washable so you can re-use it over and over again. Dump the dust cup and I was ready to go again. I would highly recommend the Eureka Suctionseal with the brushroll cleaner to anyone and everyone. Some of my other vacuums use to blow dust from the vacuum, but I found that this vacuum did not. It is extremely efficient and easy to use.

    Terrific Vacuum!

My family goes thru vacuums like tissue paper. They just never seem to last. This one looks and feels like a keeper. It's nice and sturdy. I used this vacuum right out of the box. I just removed some protective tape, plugged it in and took it for a quick spin. First impressions: It's surprisingly light for such a sturdy looking vacuum. I was able to do the entire first floor w/ little arm and back strain. I love the fact that you don't have to bend over to cut it on or adjust the handle. Both buttons are easily accessible and just take a quick toe tap. Another good thing was the suction. There was no going back and forth over the same area several times to pick up little specks of dust. This was really just up and back and move on. This vacuum was picking up everything. A room that usually takes criss crossing several times (then back again) was done in a few passes. Removing the canister is quite easy also. Putting it back was a little difficult at first, but you just have to take your time. I also like that the dust cup filter is washable. Another plus is the giant knob for switching from floor suction to tools. There's no time wasted removing the hose to plug it into the tools, then switching it back again. Just turn the knob, attach the tool and get to those hard to reach places. Bottom line? I really like this vacuum. I just need to see how it holds up.

    Love it!

What a great vacuum. The vacuum itself is 43 inches high and 13.5 inches wide and weighs about 15.5 pounds, so it is on the heavier side. It has a 12 amp motor and you can really feel it when you are pushing the vacuum. Now, for the best stuff, I am not sure about you but when my kids use the vacuum the cord is always left on the floor next to it when they are finished. This vacuum has a 27 foot cord that retracts with just the push of a button. I love that feature! Here are some more awesome things that I love; a stair/furniture attachment that is mounted on the back of the vacuum, along with a small brush and two tubes that can be hooked to a flexible hose for all those hard to reach areas. I was able to reach my ceiling fan easily to suck the dust off of it with the tube and the small brush attached. The great part is that all of the attachment are mounted on the back of the vacuum. No more looking for all the parts when you need them. I was amazed by how much the vacuum lifted from my carpets, being that I vacuum daily. I have two cats that shed like crazy and it sucked up all the hair that I could and could not see. I love how it went from carpet, to hardwood, to tile without having to change settings. With that said, there are many settings to choose from, like high to low a total of five, including bare floors. The vacuum also has a one touch off and on brush setting for when the brush is not needed. Now, how many of us have sat on the floor with a pair of scissors to remove the hair and string that attaches to the roller. No more with this vacuum. This one has a button that you step on and it self cleans the roller. How awesome is that! I have to say the suction on this vacuum is amazing and does not change at all when moving from surface to surface. When I was finished vacuuming it was just one step to empty the bagless tank. Eureka has been in our homes for many years and still proves to be the great quality vacuum it has always been.

This vacuum sucks up the competition!

I love this Vacuum over any other vacuum I have ever used hands down! Though I am not really crazy about its orange color, all its many features definitely put this vacuum to the top of my list. First and foremost (obviously) is that it has a self cleaning brushroll. There is a metal bar mounted above the brushroll, and when you push the pedal with your foot (while vacuum is on) the bar wipes off anything stuck on to the brushroll, how nice! Now instead of having to take your brush off and pull all the gunk off (or hair like mine gets stuck with) you can just push a handy little button and it does all the nasty work for you. Another awesome feature is its self retracting cord that retracts with the push of a button, no winding the cord up anymore! More features include a bag-less filter, multiple cleaning attachments, and multiple height settings for carpet, short or long, and hardwood floors. Also it has a specific button for when vacuuming hardwood that turns off the rotation of the brushroll so you can vacuum without the brushroll flinging debris over what you already cleaned. This brushroll is powerful! When using the vacuum I could definitely feel the suction power on the floor. And let me tell you, this is extreme suction! I was vacuuming my hardwood and it picked up, and sucked in, a cat fur ball from over 6 inches away! Literally I just saw the fur ball gliding along the floor towards the vacuum. Another awesome thing about this vacuum is that it has a close off valve that, when you turn the knob, diverts the air from the brushroll to the cleaning tube to get maximum suction power when using attachments like the stair and furniture attachment. One of the only things I would really change about this vacuum is that although the attachment tube is long, and it has a lengthening attachment, I found that it wasn't quite long enough to allow easy cleaning far away from the base(such as cobwebs on ceiling). Also, I dont particularly like that the on/off button is located as a foot petal at the base of the vacuum, especially since I am used to a button on the vacuum handles, however this is nothing that really affects the functionality of the device. Over all if I weigh the pros and cons of this Eureka Brushroll Clean with SuctionSeal Bagless Upright Vacuum with the very few cons, I have to say its pretty amazing. This vacuum boasts that it "proven power cleans carpets better than Dyson DC41" and as long as it keeps up to the standards it has so far, its true!!

    Modern day miracle!

Since we got married, it seems like we've gone through a vacuum each year. But actually, that was no great loss because all the vacuums were frustrating to use: - Mostly, the vacuums we had before didn't suck up the dirt and dust very well. - Some vacuums had bags that were hard to know when filled, hard hard to empty, hard to install, hard to find at the store, and expensive to replace. - The vacuums filled the room with dust in the air. - They scattered dirt behind them, especially on hard floors. - Their cords were too short. - Their rollers would get clogged with hair... - So we had to clean the roller every time we used it, which was a hassle. - And then they'd get jammed with tiny bits of paper or whatever. - And on top of all that, the vacuums would break down anyway. So now we just got what I hope is the last vacuum I ever have to buy -- the Eureka Brushroll Clean with SuctionSeal Bagless Upright Vacuum. Here's why: - It is super powerful. - It's easy to use. - It uses a canister, so no more bags. - It has a comfortable handle. - It has a self cleaning roller, which is seriously a modern-day miracle. - It has a super healthy mega filter thing so it doesn't fill the air with dust. - And it has barriers on the floor so it doesn't scatter the dirt around behind the vacuum, either. - It also has a 27-foot long cord with an automatic retractor. (I don't think I'm ever more than 27 feet from a plug, unless I'm driving down the highway.) - It has a long hose with numerous attachments for upholstery, corners, baseboards, blinds, and any other nooks and crannies. You can vacuum floors by turning the roller off with foot pedal, and it doesn't scatter anything around your floor. Which means that you can clean all your floors in any room at once, regardless of how many surfaces there are. Plus, the Eureka works really well, doesn't lose suction, and is so powerful, that it picks up obscene amounts of dirt and dust I never knew I had. Meanwhile, the brush roller so effective, that the carpet looks like new -- clean, fluffed up, and soft -- every time we vacuum. No jams at all. Another miracle. We used to have a bent hanger set on the vacuum to clean it when it jammed, which was basically every time we used it. The brush roller cleaner thing works so well -- press a pedal and the hair and string and whatever is gone. So easy -- no more scissors and knives every time we clean house. Cleaning the canister is easily done also. Click two latches and that's it. Snaps back in, fits perfect, rock solid, and done. And the super-long cord retracts in an instant at the push of a button. I'm so glad we found this vacuum, the last vacuum I hope to ever buy.

Eureka Brushroll Clean with SuctionSeal Bagless Up

Eureka Brushroll Clean with SuctionSeal Bagless Upright Vacuum, AS3401A. They compare this model to a Dyson. I own a Dyson and I would be interested in what the actual “pick-up” power is for each cleaner. Eureka Vacuum, AS3401A did not have more much suction when using the tools than my Dyson in my opinion. It did not matter which tool was used. Found the need to stop and switch between carpets to floor rather troublesome when cleaning 3 floors of the house. There is a “brush cleaner” feature that you step to clean the brushes. Still have to cut hair off the roller with scissors. The vacuum did add heat to the room when I was cleaning and the motor is pretty loud. It is very light weight that surprised me. Easy to carry up and down stairs. A longer cord would be nicer so that I could have cleaned all the stairs that had carpet. The cord storage was good. Nice to not have the cord always falling off the hooks that are usually attached to the handle. Defiantly like the “bag less” feature. Saves money. For the price this is a good vacuum. I do like my Dyson better though.

    disappointed

I was all excited about the Eureka Brushroll Upright Vacuum when ordered, however when I used it, I was disappointed by the way it was hard to maneuver over the floor. I like the retractable cord because that has always been something that I disliked about various vacuum. With this one all you have to do is press a button and the cord disappears. I also like the fact that it is bag less. This saves a lot of money because you do not have to purchase bags and you do not have to wait for an order once you have used all the bags in the house. I do like the size and the look of the vacuum. Some of the functions the vacuum has to offer you have to search for as they are not readily visible. The suction is nothing spectacular. The main thing that has me disappointed it the amount of effort it takes to maneuver over the carpet. I have low pile carpeting and it still does not roll around with ease. I have had several high end vacuums as well as inexpensive vacuums in the past and have never experienced a mobility issue. I would rate it as subpar or below average.

    Heavy Load-Eureka Vacuum-AS3401A

We received the Eureka Brushroll Clean, with SuctionSeal Bagless Uprigh Vacuum, AS3401A(Eureka) was received in a double pack box with plenty of support in the second box so the vacuum was well protected! The Eureka is very well built and should last a good long time with proper care and upkeep. It has a extremely strong suction and cleans rugs especially well. I used my present vac and then the Eureka, and was presently surprised to see the additional lint and dirt the Eureka picked up afterward! It is easy to clean and maintain, which is a blessing! It rolls well in a straight line, but is too heavy and hard to maneuver around furniture. It's high platform keeps it from going under the bed or furniture at all. It is hard to turn corners due to it's weight. I am certainly no metallurgist, but with the new light metals being made today it seems these metals should be used to reduce the weight of the Eureka. It was hard for me to use and my wife, who is only 5'3" was worn out after using it around the house! The self rewinder needs to be raised as it is so easy to step on the cord when you are vacuuming. Also, the cord needs to be about ten (10) feet longer for ease of use. It is a excellent idea and well made, just too short and in the wrong location on the Eureka.

    3. I checked mine on my bathroom scale and it tips the scales at about 17-18 lbs. So, my scale is either being good to me if it's 25 or lying if it's 15. Regardless, it's not as heavy as I thought it would be. It's a manageable Machine (we live in a tri-level).

    4. About 22 lbs

    5. It's not very heavy, maybe 8 to 10 lbs. It is light enough to pick up and move with one hand.

    6. The performance outweighs the weight. It was lighter than I expected based on some reviews and complaints I read.

    7. YES... I have 80% wood floors with area rugs, and thought that I would need this feature so that loose crumbs etc. would not scatter rather than get sucked up... I was wrong. The height selection toggle actually is quite helpful and I leave the roller brush on.
