    Cheap Plastic Dust Cup Canister

This vacuum does have a lot of suction power. I bought it for the reason of having 3 cats and 1 small dog, they shed enough hair to form another animal. On the back of the dust canister is a latch that inserts into the upright, when I went to take it off to empty the canister it completely broke off in my hand, very very cheap plastic. I have had my vacuum since April 2014, this is the first time I have had any vacuum to break on me, and I have owned many. The other downfall about this vacuum is trying to get everything perfectly aligned back into place on top of the canister, takes me longer to do this than to vacuum the upstairs and down in my home, very annoying! The turbo nozzle tool falls off the vacuum as well. I am going today to purchase the Shark Navigator Lift Away. This Eureka is the first and last one I will own.
    Dust Canister

    SPECTACULAR!

I live in a house with 3 men in their mid 20s a dog and a long haired cat. Think bachelor pad and maid(girlfriend). We purchased this vacuum and people think I'm being paid to say how awesome it is but I'm totally not. This vacuum is intense. I have attached a photo of what I picked up today in just my room, the bathroom and a small hallway. Keep in mind I had emptied it before I started vacuuming so what you see in the picture is exactly the amount it picked up. I vacuumed five days before vacuuming again and taking this picture. I HIGHLY recommend this vacuum. Kinda makes cleaning fun because you're like dude I wonder how much dirt is in this room. Only thing I don't like is the retractable power cord.
    :O

    Powerful vacuum!

I bought this after thoroughly checking reviews from multiple sites, Consumer Reports ratings and so on. I have two dogs (small breeds) and my French Bulldog seems to shed a lot so the fact that this was had a pet option, was a plus! Assembly was simple taking no more than 10-15 minutes and no tools were needed, everything snapped into place. I immediately carried it to the bedroom (they are the only rooms that are carpeted in my house, and the vacuum is very lightweight) and put the settings where I wanted and watched the vacuum go to work! I was amazed at how much yuck came up from my floors considering I had vacuumed with my older one not too terribly long ago. The suction is amazing! It actually pulled up the carpet and it looked new again, plush and comfy on the feet. I think the price for what you get is a fair deal and I can say I'm very pleased with my new vacuum. :)

SUCTION GREAT BUT WATCH FOR FALLING PARTS

I had this vacuum cleaner for two months. The suction was unbelievable. I was impressed at how powerful it is. But as much as I wanted to keep it, the many issues with it made me decide to return it to the store. For starters, the pet tool falls constantly so you can't keep it in its place while vacuuming. When you tilt the vacuum to clean under furniture, if you go too low, the on/off button gets pushed. But the worst issue, the one that made my mind to return it, is the dust canister. It is very tricky to close it in the top part, where the filter is. Every time I tried to empty the bottom part, the top part would flip open. And the bottom part would open also unexpectedly and drop the dirt on the floor. Positioning the cylinder back in place required banging it into position. The tube to clean places where the vacuum doesn't reach isn't long enough and doesn't telescope so if you don't want to bend all the time, you need to buy an extra tube (which according to the manual is available, but I was putting off ordering it). All in all, while the suction was effective, I found this vacuum extremely cumbersome to deal with.

I have had this 8 months and still happy

Actually, I am in the middle of vacuuming and I was thinking how much I love this vacuum after using for 8 months and thought I would take a break and write a review. Let me start by saying I have dark blue furniture and an off white carpet along with a small short haired dog (Madison) and a semi long haired cat (Rumors). The vacuum picks up everything......I love the see thru compartment where the hair, dirt and dust collects....I feel very satisfied when I see all that the vacuum is picking up. The pet hair brush attachment does great on my furniture......I go over it a few times but unless the little hairs (from the dog) are stuck half way in the pillows it comes up. I noticed someone saying it was a bit heavy.....it maybe be but if it is.......it won't hurt me to burn a few calories while I am cleaning and with as good a job as it does I definitely do not mind. I do hope than when this one wears out they have one as good as this to replace it. I read all the reviews on this vacuum and others before choosing this one and I am very happy I chose this one.

    First impressions

Just bought this because of the great reviews both here and Consumer Reports. First of all, it does work great. I did not realize how much dog hair my old Hoover left behind! It is light and easy to maneuver. Everything, except the dust cup, is foot-operated. Noise seems average. However, I am not in love with it. The cord rewind is a cool feature, if it worked consistently. I have to keep pulling it out and then trying to wind it up again because it seems to get stuck. Along the lines of the cord, it would be nice if there was some type of guide to put it toward the top, instead of constantly needing to pick it up from the floor. My other gripe is the dust cup. For some reason, it seems like i have to line up everything just right for it to go back on. Just annoying. Finally, I thought I had put it together wrong because there is some much extra hose. It winds from one side, down, and then over the top. Then the wand goes on. The extra hose is floppy and irritating. So, if you are not as picky about little inconveniences as I am, it is a great vacuum. It does it's job as expected.
One of the worst vacuums I have ever purchased I read the reviews seemed to be a good vacuum . I purchased it in March 2013 it has never worked on bare floors and to get it to vacuum low carpet you have to go over a spot several times I recently figured if I push down on front as I vacuum it does do a little better. The tank that holds the dirt when I took top off to clean filter for the first 4 months was a battle to get on I did complain and they did replace it . It has no light on front which I was surprised after purchase to notice that I thought all vacuums had one even my cheap ones did . It say on the front proven to clean better then a dyson for 1/2 the price I really think they should remove that its false advertisement. One nice thing is that the tools work well and have great suction but I cant vacuum house with attachments ! I do wish I would of complained about the whole vacuum and returned this one .

    Can't say enough good things!

My husband and I have recommended this vacuum to everyone. It does such a good job! I recently vacuumed 2x then shampooed my carpets ( I have 3 young kids and a dog). The carpets looked brand new, but the water was just slightly grey from the surface stains-the vacuum sucks the dirt up from the base of the carpet. We recently challenged my sister in law to a "sweep off" between ours and her Dyson. Excited to see the results! Just an FYI when you have the vacuum upright and are using the "tools" feature the brushes underneath still spin- also I'm not thrilled with how it works on hardwood- but vacuums seem not to do well on hardwood anyway. It sucks some stuff but spits other stuff out the front. The filter needs cleaned often. My husband blows it out with the air compressor about 1 a week. Easy to dump- but I have had some issues with getting it put back together properly after I have to remove the top of the canister. My husband doesn't seem to have this problem though.

Read my review, this is a great vacuum

After reading several reviews after I bought this vacuum, I just had to write, first of all, if it over heats and shuts off, this is a safety device, to save your motor before it burns up. You need to empty the tube, it's telling you it's to full...Wait 30 minutes just like it says right on the vacuum and it will start right back up. And so sorry if the suction is so strong it sucks up your throw rug and breaks a belt...I've also broken a couple of them ...well duh, do you want it to have good suction or not....I have 4 dogs and 2 cats, this is the best vacuum I have ever owned, it sucks up animal hair great. And the stair case attachment is also wonderful, it has it's own beater brush, which is great. It also works great on furniture.... For the price this is a great vacuum...

Very heavy vacuum and powers off

I bought this vacuum maybe a week ago. First thing I noticed is that the vacuum is extremely heavy. Also the handle is uncomfortable to push with. I was willing to overlook those things because it seemed to have good suction and is good at getting hair and things along the wall edges. But for the second day in a row, it has just stopped working and will not turn back on. I understand the vacuum does this to protect from overheating. But I had only vacuumed maybe 300 sq ft before it shut down this morning. Additionally, it is not good at getting dog hair or other things off my kitchen tile when on the bare floor mode. I have 2 kids, 2 big dogs and a cat so I need an excellent, reliable vacuum that can stand up to daily use. This vacuum did not deliver on that need. So, this vacuum is going back to the store today.
