Great sunblock!
Protects my 4 and 8 year old and does a great job! We live in Florida so it definitely stands up to the sun and water. Just as good as pricier brands.

This Sunscreen Gave Me The Worst Hives
Imagine: One day you wake up in the morning and decide to put on some sunscreen before you head outside. The next day you get bumps on your feet and hands. In the following days, your arm quickly develops horrible red pimple-like bumps all over your arms, legs, face, and any where else you have unfortunately applied this sunscreen. This is what happened to me. I live in a beach side town so I need to use sunscreen to avoid dying of cancer. Well, now thanks to this cheap sunscreen, I can die from hives instead. My entire arm and leg flesh is covered with hives, like a blanket of acne. I have pictures too and I wish I could post them but this website doesn't allow that. I am attempting to put my horror and agony into text but words fail me. It is so horribly repulsive that I don't want to look at my arms anymore. As I type this, my mind, my body, and my eyes are in agony. It's disgusting. Its my own arm and I think its disgusting. I have had the misfortune of applying this sunscreen to my face as well. I no longer use the mirror. I know that this sunscreen is at fault because the areas where I did not apply it do not have these horrible lumps, like my back and my torso. If I could, I would link you a picture of my arm. It's so revolting. I have purchased some anti-itch cream and anti-histamines to try and remedy this awful reaction to the sunscreen. Don't buy equate. Don't do this to yourselves. And especially, don't buy this for your children. Buy the neutrogena or aveeno sunscreens for sensitive skin. It will be pricier but at least you can still look at your children without crying. I'm very angry and upset about this problem. I've talked to all of my friends about my hives. I've sent them all pictures of my hives. It's gross. They also think its gross. My cousin said I should go to the doctors but I have no money. I am sad. And I am lumpy. And sad. And itchy. But most of all, I am sad.

good for the price and no smell

This is for kids, but I use it because it isn't scented. Its quite thick, so you can lose less.

Works well

Kept my granddaughters sunburn free while enjoying an afternoon at the splash pad in our town more than one time without reapplying every time they got wet

Equate Kids Sunscreen is a terrific product.

I'm an avid outdoors person, and enjoy hiking, bicycling, skiing and ocean water sports. I've used dozens of sunscreen lotions over the past decades, and this is by far, the best I've found. Easy to apply, long-lasting effectiveness, very water-resistant, doesn't clog up the pores, non-irritating including no discernible smell. Goes on white initially, but becomes invisible after a few minutes.

A Good Choice in my opinion

I was using Equate's version of Coppertone's Ultra Guard Spf 50 for at least a year, and saw that it was highly rated on Consumer Reports or whatever website. However, I noticed lines in my facial skin were more apparent and felt the Benzyl Alcohol in it, like Olay's Complete, was drying out the skin and compromising the integrity of the skin. I believe I had read that this alcohol causes free radicals(I'm paraphrasing what the article said). I also know that Oxybenzone can be a damaging sunscreen ingredient. The Equate Banana Boat has neither the drying alcohol nor the Oxy sunscreen in it. I like the way my skin looks and feels when applying the Banana Boat version. It moisturizes just enough, goes on smooth, and doesn't sting the eye area like the Coppertone version did. I never spend hours in the sun--I avoid it at any cost. I use this product as an every day sunscreen on the face and hands in colder months and on all other exposed parts as well in the warmer months.
