It obviously is a liquid, not a cream so therefore you need to apply it with a cotton ball. Give it a good dab a couple of times, and it works just great!

I agree that this particular Calamine is too liquidy. I had a bottle of a brand name Calamine that had expired. I replaced it with this equate brand and it's not nearly as good. It drips all over the place and does not cover the skin well at all. It takes several applications with a cotton ball to get even moderate coverage. I wouldn't buy it again and am currently looking for the name brand I had before.
If I could put no stars I would. The liquid is not creamy literally watery. So it does not stay on skin. It separates away from rash and takes multiple applications to cover area. It will drip on skin so need to have cloth ready to catch it. This lotions consistency needs to be made thicker in order to provide coverage.
