Took about 15 minutes to fully set-up, and that was with a problem on my end, so should be even faster if installation goes seamlessly! I'm so excited to see what this printer can do and how long the ink really lasts. Very easy to understand "Getting Started" instructions. Printer came with all initial ink bottles, of course, but Epson added an additional bottle of each color with the black ink bottle being gigantic! Nice touch, Epson :)

Ultimate Printing Possibilities
The ET-3600 is a very flexible printer allowing printer control of: ink density, drying time between sheets, quality--all adjustments are with sliders. This might be more adjustability than some need. For the more advanced, heavenly. Caution, some possible printer settings, e.g. paper type, will override app settings.
I print pamphlets with lots of text and large Photoshop images. My ink costs on my first 500 letter size sheets printed one side, averaging about 40% coverage, looks to be about $0.011/page. That's very good for the work I do (see typical page photo)
Best printer ever!
I've had the printer for three weeks and have printed so much. I like that I can see the level of the ink. It is some what loud but once on quiet mode it is much better. The quality of the print is great.
A Major Paradigm Shift for Printers
This is a review for the Epson ET-3600 EcoTank that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review
No more ink cartridges? What a change! I first saw the Epson Ecotank printer at a club store. I was immediately smitten. I tried to buy it but the wife was there and she said “no way, too expensive”. I explained that this printer was actually cheaper because:
1. No half full cartridges showing empty and refusing to print
2. No more dealing with a printer refusing to recognize third party cartridges due to that proprietary chip on the expensive cartridge
3. No more throwing away a broken printer every year because it was cheap and broke
4. No more storing ink cartridges for said thrown away printers because that model was no longer made but you can't stomach throwing away new ink cartridges that cost real money
I about had her convinced when this opportunity to test the Epson Et-3600 Ecotank printer came my way. I was impressed from the start. Solid packaging, easy setup, and no more cartridges! The print quality is excellent for documents and pictures. The extra features work perfectly. My wife is costing me a fortune in photo paper with the send to printer by email feature.
1. Easy set up
2. All the features I needed plus some I didn't know I needed like sending an email to the printer from your phone for printing pictures. My wife loves that feature.
3. It just works
4. No more ink cartridges, Hallelujah!
1. If you are like me and are not careful, you can spill ink when filling. This happened on the black ink because I was impatient and wanted to print. Once I cleaned up the black ink I was more careful on the colored inks. It really is not a con unless you don't pay attention.
2. This first charge takes up to 20 minutes. The instructions do not lie
3. The first time you charge the ink be ready for some noise. A lot of noise.
A brilliant speedy and High Quality Printer
Setting up this printer was a doddle. I was amazed at how easy the printer was to use. The Epson ET-3600 is wireless but you can even print from your phone which is very convenient. It comes with a little App to print easily from your phone. It's a fast printer, prints double sided and in full colour. The quality of the printing from the Epson ET-3600 Ecotank is vivid and the clarity is excellent. When it comes to photos, the quality is really beautiful. You can use regular paper or photo paper and the quality is excellent both ways.A lovely feature of the printer is that it has a pullout tray that can hold 150 sheets and as its hidden, it will stay clean and dust free until its needed. Our last printer's paper tray used to double the size of the printer! The paper tray has markings and sliders in so you can adjust it to fit different sizes of paper and it even fits envelopes. Gone are the days of having to test sizes and trying to guess them for printing envelopes, it's easily marked up for you.
The printer fits easily on our shelf as it's not too bulky.
Love This ET-3600
I love this ET-3600. We already own a 2500 and liked it so much we wanted another. We almost bought another 2500 then we discovered there was apparently the new model ET-3600 and drove to multiple stores before finding an ET3600 in stock. Unless you need an automatic feeder the ET3600 is perfect. Among other things I use it to print two sided prints of my journals. You can hear the printer while it's printing but not loud enough to be objectionable to me at all. I can't tell the ink levels have gone down and I've printed a lot. Just be careful opening the ink bottles. I shook one of the bottles a little while removing the cap foil and got a little spot of ink on my jeans. No problems filling the tanks. Even with a little more upfront cost I'll never return to ink cartridges. Print quality is great. I'd buy another in a heartbeat.
Loads of features - Super easy because of ink tanks
I think this product is probably the best ink jet printer I have used. The new ink tanks solve the biggest issue that I have had with ink jet printers which is that I hated changing the ink or running out of ink at critical times. But it also has a number of other highlights that are worth noting. First of all, it was easy to install. I mention this because I have had issues installing drivers in the past on my computer and this one was fast and easy. Wireless printing was easy as well. This may just be a function of new technology getting better, but it was certainly more seemless than any other wireless I've used. It has the other bells and whistles that make it a good choice (2 sided printing) and it was reasonably fast as well. I'd would certainly recommend this to others. “This is a review for the Epson ET-16500 EcoTank that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”
Got the printer a week ago and so far very satisfied with it including customer service. (needed help to set up wifi for one desk top and 2 laptop PC) It is a little bit noisy but other than that it's an excellent print quality so far. We'll see with time if it's still good. The only thing that could be improved is the size of the LCD screen (it is too small for my big fingers!) and it would be nice to have the user manual included in the box when you purchase the printer. I know the ink is cheap but 202 pages is a long job....
One good thing: lots of ink. That's it.
I gave the printer two stars because--it prints and has lots of ink, as advertised. Other than that, I am very disappointed.
Printer is advertised as accepting legal sized paper, but the loading tray will not accommodate legal size. So you have to override the error message every time.
Display is primitive, apparently using technology from the early part of the century. You must scroll to choose procedure or choice you want. Primitive graphics--actually, no graphics.
Print quality is poor, especially on warm tones, and worse, on faces, which appear flat both in features and color. Occasionally I can choose an extreme brightness setting on the computer to get a decent print, but that doesn't always work.
Frequently gives an error signal for jamming, when there is no jam at all.
I bought this so that I could print photos and not have to worry about frequently resupplying expensive cartridges, but the low print quality defeats that objective.
I can't object to the lack of scanning ability because the printer was not advertised as a scanner.
Ultimately, this is a basic, no frills printer, with one very expensive feature: large ink supply. For the money that they charge, Epson could easily have produced a quality printer to match that one excellent feature--but they didn't.
