The Ematic Mini Portable Theater Projector worked great with a USB inserted. The photos actually showed up well on a white wall as I did not have a screen or white sheet that I've normally used in the past for slide shows. Compared to older model projectors, the LED light source and LCD display certainly enhance the projected images. For my personal regular use, I plan to use the projector to enlarge items that I will trace for various projects. For occasional use, this projector is great for sharing montages and loads of photographs/videos (and the projector also supports audio) to share with others. You simply insert the USB (up to 1000 GB) and turn on the projector, then aim and adjust the picture to the area and size desired (up to 90”). There is a remote included that needs three AAA batteries (not included). There is also an AC power adapter included.

A Projector That is Easy and Fun to Use
Feel like your at the movie' theater at home
This minii projector has it all in a comact little box. My grandkids will be able to watch movies and play games when the visit and see it on a big screen. It is portable and you can take it anywhere. It will display up to a 90 "" screen so you can uae a blank wall to project your movie or game. It is plastic and light weight and is small enough to store anywhere. The feature's ai like best is comes complete with it's own remote control and has built in speakers!!. The grand children will love coming to visit that much more. I have a movie night planned for tonight and I won't need my glasses to see the action. Great product for all ages.
It works but you need a very dark room.
This is a very inexpensive portable projector so I wasn't expecting a lot. It does work and it's fairly easy to set up but it does have its limitations. The only way you can adjust the screen size is by moving the projector closer or further away from the surface you are projecting it onto. You have to be in very low light, almost complete darkness or it gets washed out. It also helps to project this onto a white surface or at least as light as possible. This would never be used as a main entertainment unit but it would be great for kids or could be used to project what you have on your computer onto a bigger surface for a meeting or classroom but the room would have to be fairly dark. The built in speaker is just ok but it does have a headphone jack so you could listen with headphones or use external speakers. It is very small and lightweight so it could easily travel in a computer bag. For the price it's really pretty cool but realize it does have its limitations.
Small but good enough
Review of the Ematic Mini Portable Theater Projector. So first of all do not expect this projector to be as good as a nine hundred dollar projector. With that said this a projector for maybe show pictures at a party or something where you are not looking for fine details. This is not a 4K UHD home theater projector with high dynamic range. You can project a video game onto a screen and it will be fine for that. Some movies would probably be okay, if they are not a dark movie that has very low light. Cartoons or animated movies would play well, because they are much brighter than you normal movies. It does have some technical inputs that would help and that being a HDMI input for connecting to a video game and a USB port for those childhood pictures to show on the screen during the upcoming graduation party. Connections are simple and straightforward. There is also a microSD slot. It has built in speakers also, but you might want to use external speakers, because the one in the projector are not very powerful. So if you are looking for a small projector that maybe the kids would like to set up for their video game or for showing pictures this would be a good projector for you.
The Ematic Mini Portable Theater Projector is smaller than I expected. It is very light weight. It requires 2 AAA batteries for the remote, but does come with an AC power adapter. The power adapter only has a 4 foot cord, meaning the projector needs to be very close to the wall or add an extension cord.
It did not come with any cables to connect the projector to a laptop or other device. The projector has 2 inputs, USB and standard size HDMI. I needed to get a HDMI cable as well as an adapter, as my laptop didn't use standard size HDMI.
Once it was up and working, we were able to project whatever was on my computer screen. The resolution was as expected for a projector in this price range. I tested it on a white wall. No sheet or screen was needed for projection.
It does have speakers. The sound even at 80 was pretty quiet though. It would need to be in a very quiet room, or add speakers.
I planned to use the projector with small groups for teaching. It will work in a small dark room, since the resolution isn't great, and the sound wasn't too loud.
The projector works fine, nothing broken, for the price, it's low-end but usable.
Needed more cords
The Ematic Mini Portable Theater Projector is a cute little projector that would be great for a child between the ages of 8-10, with plenty of adult supervision. It is easy to set up, if you follow the instructions! The picture quality is okay, and it is supposed to show up to 90 inches. The projector has built in speakers as well. There is an HDMI port for gaming and other audio visual devices. It would have been nice if there were an audio visual cord included, even though they are a bit archaic! The projector is 1080p HD compatible. I think this would be a little challenging for a child, but with adult assistance, it could work. The projector and remote are made of a very lightweight plastic, suitable for small hands.
I was excited to try out this mini projector during the holidays when family was over. It was pretty easy to set up and because of the size it doesn't take up much space. However when I finally started to use it, the clarity wasn't great. It could definitely be used in my sons room for a fun movie night, but I probably wouldn't use it for much more than that. All in all if you want a fancy projector this is not it, but it does the job ok for what it's intended.
Not what I expected
Here’s the thing. I saw the words 1080p and assumed that meant it would project that, but it just meant that it has the capability to stream those videos that are 1080p but at a much more pixelated image that is way lower quality. I was not expecting to be able to see each individual square when I projected onto the wall no matter how small or large I made the projector “screen”. The volume at its highest level can only be heard if there is absolute silence, so not good for a group setting unless you have a separate speaker, which they have a mic jack plug in so it’s nice they’ve made that so accessible. For how small it is, it does what it says it will, just hard to watch anything on it if you’re used to 4K and 1080p or i.
This mini projector I would rate as fair. It is nice and compact and not too difficult to set up. I set it up from my computer. Unfortunately, I was not able to connect to my phone, which is what I was really hoping for. The clarity is a bit grainy. You can't compare it to an HD TV, which I am used to viewing. Also, the sound is not very loud. It would be fine if you are in a small room. However, you can hook up external speakers which is nice. A HDMI cord is not included which is needed for connection. The screen does project very large which is surprising from the compact unit. I would say this is nice for a children's sleepover, but I believe adults would prefer a picture which is more bright and clear. Keep in mind that the room must be very, very dark to see the screen, so brighter shows like cartoons or games would be a better fit for this unit.
Very Low End Projector
In the box you get the projector, a remote control and a power supply to plug into the wall to power the unit. You do not get batteries for the remote (it takes 2 AAA batteries), nor do you get any cables to connect the projector to your device.
There are two inputs to the device, either USB or HDMI. If you want to project videos or movies or anything with sound you will need an HDMI cable. The unit has a standard size HDMI. Check your device, tablet, laptop, etc. to make sure that it also uses the standard size HDMI. If not, you will need the HDMI cable and an appropriate adapter.
On the unit itself there are no leveling legs or anything to adjust height. It sits flat, so you will need to figure out how to get it to the correct height for projecting. The unit is not very bright. In a pitch black room it's okay. The instructions claim you can project up to 90 inches in screen size. At that size I could not get the lens to focus good at all. Maybe 72 inches or lower is probably more like it.
The picture quality on a flat white wall in a pitch black room is fair. Don't expect HD quality or anything near that.
It works, but this is a really low-end device. In fairness, though, the price reflects that.
