    Excellent investment
We're so glad we finally bought soaker hoses. We used one full 50ft hose plus 25ft of a second. (Cutting to size and relocating the end fitting is VERY easy.) We removed the restrictor from the second hose (NOT from the first), added a "quick disconnect" fitting to the lead soaker end and to our supply hose, filled the soaker hose completely and then capped the tail end (only the first time). It worked instantly. But ya gotta follow instructions and use common sense. After 2 hours of soaking, our raised beds are moist three inches deep or more - and the mulch is almost bone dry. No more "sprinklering", which just turned so much water into vapor. And it's kinda fun watching the water progressively start seeping out after turning on the spigot. You won't be sorry.

    soaker hose tips

    1) Let water run through for a few minutes to thoroughly wet hose. It will lay flat, bend easily and can be threaded through plants. 2) Now turn water on high and let run until you see evidence that it has reached the end of hose. 3) Return to faucet and turn off , then back on a little bit. Check length of hose and adjust to preferred drip rate. My husband figured this out and it works on any kind of drip hose.

    Hit and Miss

Purchased to water trees and shrubs. I bought 6 of them to run 300 feet .4 work well and two hardly seep at all. I'll be returning it.

    temporary fix item

Initially happy with purchase mainly due to low cost. Within 2 months began springing leaks or of connected/disconnected on occasion would break off and had to be repaired. Brittle texture. I had ordered several of these. All of them same issues. These will only make do for one season at best I think, but good for temporary low cost solution.

    Leaky hose

Leaking in several places. End part came off before first use.

    1. I have a little over 500 feet of this hose, joined end-to-end, that I use to irrigate my lawn. It's buried about 6 inches deep, with the soil from the trench stepped-in to cover it. Of course, I removed the restrictors to get good water flow along the entire length. The hose has been in place over 10 years with no problems with the buried portion. I recommend leaving the open end just sticking out of the ground enough to attach a regular garden hose between the water faucet and the buried soaker hoses, as sun/heat/cold will break down exposed soaker hose in a couple of years. This method of watering gets the water right where it is needed -- at the roots -- with no evaporative loss or runoff. A simple and inexpensive, as well as ecologically sound, way to irrigate. . . and much easier to install and maintain than any other method!

    2. Up here in Wi.....I dug out about 2 x2" Line of Dirt, then laid the Soaker hose into that and then Topped it off with MULCH..to Keep moister in and Weeds down.. I also Use a manual Timer, it runs for only 1 hr to soak my 12 Bushes..( 1 use 45 Gals per hr. ) at 7" depth.. ( its already 2" below grade to start with. I leave the Soaker hse in the Ground, but Remove the Timer and 10 ft leader Hose and put that in my 50 degree heated garage.. This Hose and Timer is now in its 3rd Yr and so far, so good.. I am also On Well Water-30 psi ..

    3. Element SoakerPRO works very effectively when buried under a layer of dirt or mulch. This is in fact the optimal way to utilize the soaker as it more effectively distributes the water.
