When I first pull the box out of the plastic covering I was astonished at how well the actual box containing the dvd sleeve was made, it was very smooth and dark. It has gold trim all around the box and the front has the famous Skyrim dragon emblem and The Elder Scrolls Anthology with all of the games listed beneath in gold lettering on the front. When I began to pull the dvd sleeve from the box I noticed the construction was the same. A rugged dark casing with gold lettering. And Maybe I should call it a dvd sleeve, it felt more like a book. And on the first page you find Arena the first Elder scrolls game. It has really nice artwork and a little bit of the plot laid out in text then you proceed to open the centerfold for the first page to reveal the game with screenshots taken from it. The same goes for the rest of the games included. You can get the first two ES games for free on their site but having a physical copy is so much better. The old ones on ebay are expensive. Anyway after you make your way through the pages of beautiful art and glimpses of the amazing titles included you will get to the last page which will include somewhat of a manual for the collection which includes a steam key for ES 3, 4, and 5 as well as maps for each of the games. Yes you heard me right a map for each of the titles included which is very very awesome. Because I'm not even sure if the original titles came with them, and if they did I'm sure they are hard to find in even decent condition. If you have been graced with the gift to play even one of the Elder Scrolls games the rest are definitely worth checking out. They are full of hours of immersive and imaginative gameplay. By far the best fantasy series I have played. And for the price its a steal if you are wanting all of the games. I was first looking to only purchase Skyrim Legendary Edition but when I compared the price to this it was a no brainer. This collection comes complete with all of the expansions for Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim. Also with my employee discount I got even more savings when ordering online with walmart. We really do have the LOWEST prices.

(No spoilers!) This is simply amazing. Bethesda(creator/developer of The Elder Scrolls) was kind enough to put all of the core games into a box set. This is a fan's dream come true and more! If you are a fan you will love this astounding five in one vault of the best RPG game around. The vault includes, as stated on the product page, Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim, all with their respective expansions. Why this is so amazing is that Area (the first in the series) was formatted as a floppy disk until patched in the release of the Deluxe Edition in 1994. Even so, Arena is a DOS based game and even if one could run it, buying Arena individually now would run you a larger sum than this box set. Daggerfall was a stepping stone into more advanced combat, spell casting, equipment enhancing, and inhanced world interaction that players enjoy now in newer installments of the series. It is an important installment in the series development and has many more options and quests to explore, thus leading the grandeur. Morrowind: a personal favorite and by far dubbed the best installment in the series by many fans of The Elder Scrolls. Marrowind was designed with an open-ended free-form style of gameplay in mind, didn't focus on main quests, and had a truly open world with richer and more expansive detail. Won over 60 awards including Game of The Year (GOTY). Oblivion was a mile stone for the series as it had over the top detail to the landscape, structures, characters, and focus of events. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was an awe inspiring title that has to be played in order to fully comprehend any notion of the ground breaking digital masterpiece Bethesda created. Skyrim: A new chapter in The Elder Scrolls, set 200 years after the events in Oblivion. Bethesda used a new creation engine to create more detailed and life like images. The main quest is more focused and side quests are more abundant. Skyrim is an amazing installment and a worthy end to the greastest RPG series.* On a semi unrelated note- If you have to install Steam to launch any or all of the games in this set, be prepared for Steam to close suddenly for no apparent reason, to install updates, to bring your attention to new releases or sale items, or to error in some unknown manner. Steam may also filter in viruses so it is wise to have your anti virus software installed, activated, and updated. Personally have not had any problems with Steam importing viruses but I had heard of this happening so here's a fair warning. An excellent anti virus software would be Kaspersky or Norton. For more information about The Elder Scrolls, be it gameplay, lore, cheats, walkthroughs, time line, etc, cheack out The Unoffical Elder Scroll Pages (UESP): http://uesp.net/wiki/Main_Page For info about the design team: http://bethsoft.com/en-us/studios *Rumored but not confirmed.

I'm not a big Elder Scrolls fan so I may have an inexperienced view on this series, but so far I have enjoyed every minute of game play of Skyrim and Oblivion. I'll admit, the PC controls are not as comfortable as a gaming controller, but I have gotten used to them and am now enjoying PC gaming for the first time. I would highly recommend this game series for RPG gamers and would agree that this price is a great deal for all 5 games.

I ordered this online because it was cheap than in the store. Service was quick, and I am actual playing it right now. I have only recently (about 1.5 yr) became interested in TES, I have TES IV on xbox ,so I thought it was time to see what the others were like. Plus it was a great deal.

I already own the series so I didn't buy this at its launch. The package is nice and the convenience of not having to set up DOS Box for those who don't know how is good. Now however it has fallen since its launch from nearly eighty dollars to under thirty dollars. I am not a fan of Steam. You only need it for Skyrim, which has all DLC. Since it was available for console and didn't need Steam on them I bought it that way. Don't get me wrong. I don't hate Steam, I actually have an account for those Steam only games or ridiculous bargains they sometimes offer. It's just never my first choice. At this price I decided to get it for the beautiful packaging and the pc mods that are now open to me on Skyrim. At this price it is well worth it.

  • A. They are all compatible with windows 7. The only problem you might run in to is when attempting to play the first two games because of the os they were made for. For arena and daggerfall you will need to download an emulator, which can easily be explained and found through Bethesda's website.

  • A. The short answer is, yes, they are compatible. That being said, Arena and Daggerfall are VERY old school. We're talking Donkey Kong, 8-bit, can only walk in straight lines, old school. These two games have been imbedded into a DOS emulator (they were meant to be played on the old 5.25" floppy and the 3.5" floppy respectively). Because of this the games can both be a bit frustrating to play. That being said, the story makes them worth the trouble. In Morrowind, the graphics are improved over the first two, but by no means up to today's standards, and gameplay is still a bit clunky, but characters have 3 dimensions of movement. Again, it's the story telling that matters. On the other hand, Oblivion has both the graphics quality and storytelling that can draw players in and keep them playing. Skyrim, requires the Steam engine to run, and therefore requires access to the internet for updates. If you have dialup or a slow connection this can be tedious and expensive. That being said, with high-speed, patches are easily installed and game progress can be saved; there is also access to player created content (and both official and unofficial patches), as well as add ons. Personally, I've loved all five of the games and am looking forward to the new Online version with high hopes.
