I love grinding my own beans, and I like dark roasted ones. Eight O'clock Coffee is one of the few brands that has what I'm looking for at the right price, but with a high quality taste. It is indeed includes a hint of chocolate with a variety of ways to grind and brew it, it is a rather bold blend in the end.
I have only one major problem with this coffee, and that is availability. The whole bean dark roast flavor has recently been discontinued at my local store, coincidentally right after I bought my first bag while searching for the right combination to call my go-to favorite. The price went up for the other flavors of Eight O'clock coffee quite a bit, but fortunately remain the same for the dark roast listed online at Walmart, however I now have to order it online and in bulk to save shipping costs. I also fear that it may be discontinued and I'll be left right back where I started from searching for the perfect blend of cost and quality with even fewer choices left. If left to buy directly from Eight O'clock coffee, I'd look for something else as their prices are somehow much higher.

My husband and I love this flavor and brand. We switched from grounded coffee because of all the extra steps and hearing about bugs in the grounded stuff so we switched to whole bean. It's a little more expensive, but this is a good deal. It's a little more work since you have ground it yourself. But the flavor is delicious with it being creamy but chocolatey, and fresh ground coffee is different.

The Flavor I've been searching for since Dana Brown's Safari coffee ceased production

I brew a cup or two of 8 o'clock 100% Colombian peaks every morning in an espresso pot for best flavor , you just can't beat fresh ground coffee . Colombian peaks has a premium flavor, in my opinion ,above regular 8 o'clock , although regular 8 o'clock is still a first choice
over other brands.
