I have both medium and large Eddie Bauer coats, and I found my winter coat snug and went with the larger size and decided to do the same for this jacket. First of all the plumb color is lovely and the fabric is soft with some give. I generally get tall sizes, but thought I'd try the regular (even at 50% off the coat isn't cheap, so I thought I'd try to save a bit of money and see if it worked). The sleeves are actually long enough and all around it is just a great fitting coat. While I didn't walk in a torrential downpour, being out in the rain, the water beaded up and worked as it should. I found myself wearing this simply as a lightweight jacket since it doesn't scream out "rain coat." Great purchase!
Eddie Bauer Women's Cloud Cap Stretch 2.0 Parka
About This Item
This is a really nice rain jacket. The outer material is soft and not noisy like other rain jackets. Great length and fit. I did not like the fabric backing and especially in the sleeves. I found it made me hot and the sleeves stuck to my arms. If somehow the sleeves could have a fabric lining instead of the bonded waterproof backing, it would be much better. I ended up returning the jacket.
Overall super impressed with this jacket - it was much thinner than I was expecting, but great quality, fit, and the colour is really nice. The bottom hem is curved and very flattering - I would buy this in another colour.
I expected something a bit different.
I really like the parka, however I was expecting something with a bit more heft. I will keep it and wear it when the weather isn't too extreme. Will layer underneath with a fleece top and/or sweater. Definitely a classy style, so will keep as I will also be able to wear in the summer rains. I purchased a Large Petite because it specified an Active cut. It is a good fit, as I will be layering. I weigh approx 125 pounds.
Comfortable, very lightweight, packable
Perfect coat for casual wear or hiking. This coat is unlined but excellent as a wind breaker or raincoat layer. Normal sizing, neither baggy nor tight, easy to fit a layer or two underneath for warmth making this coat wearable in the spring, summer & fall. Very, very light, easy to pack, well constructed, good zippers, mid calf length which looks great over tights & jeans; the plum is gorgeous. The only thing I don't like about this coat is the hood. It's too big, even though it has cords to adjust it, and you can't remove it or roll it up and snap it in place. If you could roll up or remove the hood, it could be dressed up for a casual evening look. Also, you can see the grey "plastic" inside of the hood when it's down and it's not pretty at all. Overall, it cheapens the look of the coat. So minus 1 star for the poor design and look of the hood.
