This is my second pair of Drew shoes and I am sold! I will never buy another brand. I wear a WW and a high instep, and these shoes fit just as well as my Drew Hope's do. I love the roominess in the toes too. I ordered my regular size in the Geneva and they fit just right, so not sure why the site says to order 1/2 size down. The weight of the shoe is not a big deal - it is the same as the Drew Hope. I think that all their shoes with the steel shanks have the weight. I got the grey color - very neutral, will wear to work with slacks and jeans, and probably on the weekends too as they are more comfortable than my sneakers! Thanks, Shoebuy, for your great prices, fast shipping, and for always having my size in stock.

Firm but comfortable! I can walk again!
I looked at this shoe for months and glad I finally bought these! I have arthritis in my feet along with fallen arches and more. The shoes are very well-made and strong. The inserts are good but really almost like a miracle when I combined this shoe with the Protalus inserts. Now I can walk! I had the inserts in another shoe and they were okay, but the combo with this shoe is the best. I've bought at least 10 pairs of shoes for orthotic problems and these by are my favorites. Just wish I could find something to feel this good and look good in a dress! Thanking God, I can walk!
Truly a Great Shoe!
I now own 3 out of the 4 colors offered. I started wearing this shoe over 2 years ago. I needed a shoe to fit orthotics. I wanted a shoe that not only accommodated the orthotics but shoes with a nice look and youthful looking. The shoes fit great and look nice. I get compliments on this shoe. I live in these shoes throughout fall and winter. I wish this was offered in a summer shoe. I highly recommend the drew Geneva.
Best fit for a a truly wide foot.
I have worn this style of Drew shoes for about the last ten years. They are an excellent fit for my foot which is wide and boxy. A most wide shoes tend to fit wide only at the widest part of the foot and narrow at the toe box which doesn't work for my foot.
As for how heavy the shoe is, in my estimation it's an average weight for a genuinely leather shoe. These days many athletic style shoes are made of synthetic knit fabrics which weigh next to nothing. If you go from wearing a shoe made of a lightweight fabric to a leather shoe it might seem as if the latter is much heavier than it is in actuality. All I wear are leather shoes, so these were hardly heavy to me. Nor, have I had a problem with the breathabity of the Drew Geneva. But, then I have never had an issue with sweaty feet. If you do have a greater problem with sweat then these may not be the shoes for you.
Absolutely love these shoes!
This is my second pair of Drew Geneva shoes (own the grey and blue). I have been wearing them for a few months. They are extremely comfortable. The slight heaviness of the shoes helps with my balance, and they have an ample toe box in my size (9W). I wish I could afford to buy them in every color.
These shoes are the best I have ever found!!
I have been wearing the Drew Geneva for several years now. They come in narrow sizes and they accommodate my orthotics. When I take out the removable footbed, I am able to wear the orthotics that I need and remain in the narrow size that is best for me. These shoes are very comfortable with the wider toe box and I have found that they are not any heavier than any other shoe. Also I found the sizing to be accurate. For me, they are the best shoe I have ever found. And they look nice with pants. Please continue to carry these on ShoeBuy.com.
I disagree with other reviews
Many of the reviews commented on how heavy these shoes are but I don't agree. I did take out both layers of inner soles and replaced them with my custom form. The soles are made out of a different material than most shoes and aren't quite as flexible so they have a different feel when walking which may contribute to feeling different. Yes, they are slightly heavier than my "tennis" shoes but most well-made walking shoes are. My only negative is that my feet feel slightly damp after wearing them all day. I may use my small rivet tool and punch a couple of holes on the inner sides. Since the shoes have a decorative detail with perforations I doubt the holes will be noticeable.
Extremely well made
Just know ahead of time that these shoes are a heavy, supportive shoe, with some stiffness. They feel almost like a serious hiking boot. (They run big and wide) They are good for what I bought them for: standing all day on concrete. Its great that you can adjust the 2 in- soles. I did not like the contrasting laces, so changed them to navy to match the shoe. These are NOT sneakers!!!!
Disappointing Purchase; Had to Return
I searched for a comfortable walking shoe with depth for an orthotic, wide width, and support. This shoe from Drew was inflexible and not really comfortable and the shoes are heavy due to the thick soles, meaning that wearing them will make your legs ache. I wore them around the house on carpet and found all the above problems so I had to return them.
Big and Heavy not Cute!
The photo makes them look cute and stylish which is so hard to find for wider shoes. Instead they are very heavy and thick materials making them look even more oversized. The sole is too stiff and heavy and the toe is very boxy - good i guess if you need a lot more space right at the toes and not at the ball of the foot but not for me. The materials are nice but the shape is so clunky it's pointless, I'll never wear them, which is disappointing because they were expensive.
