I wear braces that extend from my knees to my toes. This shoe is the only shoe that has a little bit of style and has the double depth to fit my orthotic. Once you wear orthotics, style goes out the window. You have to accept the look. Once you get used to Desirees, they are kind of attractive. I have them in almost all color combinations and they wear like iron.

Most comfortable shoes Ive worn in years
I have total knees, massive arthritis, bunions and hammer toes. A sales rep put this shoe on me. It was like slipping on a soft leather glove! I have had 6 pair so far and am about to order #7. I have 2 colors, mostly wear basic black and nearly every day. I love them that much. I do have other orthopaedic shoes, but these are by far the most comfortable for my needs. My only complaint is the strap stretches and then the Velcro no longer catches, so I have to leave it loose. I am wearing them today.
Excellent product, excellent service.
I've worn these shoes for years and am very familiar with the fit and the comfort they provide, so I knew I was getting an excellent product. However, this was the first time I ordered from ShoeBuy and am delighted with the excellent service I received. This will not be my last order.
Folding Hills Grandma
My poor teacher-feet have had extensive surgeries and the problems are starting to recur. These are my favorite shoes right now. I ordered WW and with the extra depth to the foot space, I don't feel pressure on tender spots. The black ones can be worn with socks for more casual wear and without also. I have trouble with open flats, pumps and even Mary Janes if the edge rubs on my bunion scars. These are cut high enough not to be a problem. Also the T-strap does the job of keeping the shoe on without making the toes do so much flexing. The strap closure is very adjustable Velcro and easily allows for socks or swelling. The sole is flexible, but not extremely so. The insole is removable to allow for orthotics, though I seem not to need them in these shoes.
Happy to find white shoes
I have been wearing an afo brace since Dec. 2010 due to a bad case of the shingles destroying the main nerve to my foot. It has left me with a severe dropped foot so I needed to think less about style (because I was a shoe freak with one to match just about everything that I wore). Well those days are over and I'm just too happy to be able to walk with the help of this brace and as comfortable of a shoe as I can get. These Drew Desiree shoes that I got in all white are quite comfortable. I should have paid attention to other reviews to go to a smaller size. I wear a 7 1/2 and I ordered an 8 to accommodate the brace and I had to return them for a 7 1/2. They fit the foot with the brace but I still needed to put several inner soles in to tighten up the other shoe. But all in all, I am quite satisfied.
Best fitting shoe I've found, have bought 3 pairs and would get more if still made
Desiree is far more attractive than most double depth shoes that work with orthotics or other special insoles. It wears well, and the last is very good for my narrow heels and neuropathy. Also the use of high quality mesh provides good stretch and return shape, and allows some air circulation.
I would rate it a 5 but Drew has stopped making this shoe. They only have one other on the #16 last and it looks like an orthopedic show.
