I love this product I was kind of scared to go purchase Dr. Brown's bottles because of the way the nipple looked because I knew he was use to the wider ones'. My son is 13 weeks and we have been using Playtex bottles with the drop-ins. He was vomitting every single feeding and being really fussy I thought it was the formula so we changed it twice. When that did not work I decided to try these bottles and two days later he is doing much better. I love them! They are not as hard to put together and clean as everyone is making them seem. I just clean them once a day I bought two packs so that would be possible. Just fill the sink up with soap and hot water and let them soak for a little while then clean them and place them on the bottle drying rack. When they are dry assemble them so that when you have to make a bottle it will be with ease. I did get the closed caps with my bottles so I just mix the formula in them and it works just fine.

I do love these bottles but they have 2 major draw backs. They allow for air flow and so my daughter never has to release the nipple so it can decompress. The draw backs: they leak slightly if you over fill them by any amount and they have several small pieces which are a pain when you're in a hurry. All and all I would still not use anything else.

I had been exclusively breastfeeding but wanted to introduce bottles so that my husband could feed our daughter when I was away on short errands. I tried so many bottles and my poor baby would practically drown in them because the flow was so fast. Dr. Brown's preemie nipples are the ONLY thing that I could find that would work after trying medela, tomie tippie, and many more popular brands. These bottles were great at preventing gas. It greatly eliminated spit up and she burped easily after taking the bottles. I didn't think the additional parts were a hassle. It only takes 30 more seconds to clean the 2 extra parts and assembly was a no brainer. I would recommend these to anymore having trouble with spit up after feeding and especially the preemie nipples for those transitioning from breastfeeding. They are a bit pricey, but not anymore than the other popular brands that didn't even work and I wasted a ton of money trying them all out.

    Solving Colic Symptoms

I am a first time mom and my baby girls has had extreme colic for the past 5 weeks. Every night around 4-5pm until she went to bed she would scream in pain. After changing the formula for the 4th time and giving her prescription medicine and still not having the problem solved, we decided to make one more change....We WERE using the playtex drop-ins, what a mistake that was....GOD BLESS DR BROWNS. I have a new baby! Yes the bottles have more parts to clean, but it is way worth it! I cannot believe the difference. By the end of the night her little belly was not distened and looked normal. I suggest buying the mixing pitcher that is sold seperately it works great. My little one eats 8 4 oz bottles in a 24 hour period and I bought the infant starter set which has 3 8oz and 3 4oz bottles, which is just enough to get us thru a full period. I highly recommend this product, just read the directions and follow their advice and you will not have any leaks and a new baby to care for:)

    Worst bottles ever

This is the worst purchase I've ever made and I don't know how to return it. These are baby bottles and I've opened the package and I don't think Walmart will take it back. These bottles leak so bad no matter what I do. I spent hours trying to get it right so it won't leak. But nothing works. Trying to assemble these bottles with a crying baby is another major issue. Too many parts and fluid always goes up the blue tube and the system doesn't work. They leaked in the diaper bag too. How horrible to find these bottles leaking and not have enough milk for the baby when you need it??? Please save your money and do not buy these bottles. You will regret it. Also the baby always seems to be more gassy on these bottles than any other I've tried. This could be because the venting system didn't work properly on me. But it's impossible for the liquid not to go up the tube. My money has just gone down the drain. These bottles went straight to trash.

    • A. Yes, the smaller ones can be used for smaller feedings, like up to 3 months (for formula) and the larger ones for when the baby grows older and is eating more. I am breastfeeding, so my baby does not take a lot of milk at once when I pump and use a bottle, therefore the smaller size works fine for us. My baby is now 4 months old and we use the 5 oz bottle, but she only eats about 3 ounces at a time.

    • A. These bottles can be used past 6 months. They have 3 different level flow nipples and they have a Y cut nipple for cereal to geth through. Dr. Brown even offers a training cup so you can use the bottles until you are ready to switch to the training cup whenever your child is ready. I plan to keep my daughter on Dr. Brown bottles and when she is older convert to the training cup. Hope this helps you.

    • A. Dr. Browns are better. They have a positive flow of milk. Playtex drop-ins have negative flow (they have to suck against a vacuum like suction! If you don't "Burp" the playtex bottle, the baby has to suck all the air out first before they get milk. Dr. Browns bottles keep air out of the nipple and away from the milk!! No Air = No Gas And they are cheaper. There are no extra pieces to buy on a weekly basis!
