Dove user for years... this is a nice product.
I've been a user of the Dove haircare line off and on for many, many years. This Intensive Therapy is my favorite for daily washing. I have a mixture of fine and coarse hair that can become a rat's nest without proper conditioning. I do like to test out new products from other brands from time to time, out of curiosity, but I never have a "bad hair day" when I stick to this Dove stuff. Seriously. I've read some reviews where people have an issue with how the product smells. Honestly, I don't find the scent offensive at all. As a matter of fact, if this was a perfume I could buy separately, I'd be on that right away! I would describe it as very light and clean, similar to their bar soaps, or even Caress Daily Silk soap only better. Of course, everyone has their own opinion and some folks are very sensitive to scents. :) As far as the formula, I haven't noticed any negative changes in the texture of my hair after using both the shampoo or conditioner... still the same great results to keep me coming back. I really love this line and hope it's here to stay. Thanks, Dove, for helping me take care of my not-so-perfect natural hair. To anyone on the fence, I highly recommend giving this line brand a try. It's a nice product at an affordable price.

WHY DID THEY HAVE TO CHANGE THEIR FORMULA?
What happened?! Why do companies have to change the formula when they're clearly getting great responses/reviews from everyone? I honestly don't understand what the thought process is besides cutting out/replacing ingredients to save money while still charging the same amount. Even then, you're going to lose customers in the process so why try to fix something that ain't broken? I'm honestly pretty upset about this formula change because I've been on the search for a shampoo and conditioner for a long time to work for my low-porosity, wavy 2A-2C hair that HATES protein and coconut oil. What does this new formula have? COCONUT OIL. Ugh. This was one the one line that was meant for moisture/hydration that Dove has that didn't have coconut oil in it which is why I became a loyal user. This was my go-to every wash product that I knew I could rely on for manageable, soft and healthy hair that I could air dry and go. I was so stoked to have finally found the shampoo + conditioner that worked after being on a long search of curly girl method products failing and all “high end” salon brands failing. I bought a new big bottle and as soon as I started working it through my hair I noticed the smell was different and had a thinner consistency. It didn't provide as much slip or felt as moisturizing as the previous formula. I see a lot of other reviews of people hating the smell, and honestly, the smell isn't that bad and I'm not offended by it at all. IT'S THE COCONUT OIL. I wasn't sure why the two times I've used this my ends were looking and feeling dry and crispy. My hair has not been drying the same and my waves are pulled out and stringy. The frizz is a lot worse and my hair just overall looks and feels terrible. I will for sure have severe protein overload if I keep using this conditioner, so of course, I have to find something else now. The quest continues again for shampoo + conditioner that works well for my hair. I really hope Dove will actually read and listen to their customers who are clearly upset about this sudden formula change. If you look at any reviews about this conditioner and sort it by recent, it's all one stars. Super disappointed.

So disappointed

I can't believe that dove changed the scent. It had such a light beautiful scent. That was one of the main reasons I loved their conditioner. The new smell is strong and smells like a laundry detergent. All the shampoo and conditioner scents smell like this. Why would they do ???

Don't like NEW conditioner.

I do not like the NEW version of this conditioner! I have always used the Dove Intensive Repair shampoo & conditioner. I liked that it didn't have much of a scent because I have a sensitive scalp and I also cant stand strong smells. I bought the conditioner like I always do and then realized it said NEW. The smell is awful and it left my hair dry feeling and my scalp very irritated. Now i have to look for a new conditioner.

dry dry dry

Dove has effectively RUINED all of their conditioners by the addition of Propylheptyl Ether and Sodium Sulfate to the products. What were previously lovely hydrating conditioners are now just cheapened products that do not impart any lasting moisture to hair. Hair is moist right after wash and then dry and crispy within a day.
