A Universal Product

I am an African American woman who typically buys hair products that cater to my type of hair especially after I stopped chemically treating my hair and going natural. One of the problems I have found with buying niche products is that they might not be available at all stores. So sometimes I have to buy a shampoo that might not be meant for my type of hair. After using the Dove DermaCare Scalp Invigorating Mint 2in1 I was pleased with its performance. I loved how well it lathered up it did a great job of cleansing my hair and scalp it rinsed out well. It did not leave a residue, and the invigorating mint is a pleasant scent. More importantly after using the Dove DermaCare Scalp Invigorating Mint 2in1 I loved how my hair felt. Usually if I don’t use a shampoo that is catered to my hair type it usually leaves my hair dry, feeling brittle, and looking dull. I did not have that problem with the Dove DermaCare Scalp Invigorating Mint 2in1 it cleansed my hair and left it feeling normal. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Worst Shampoo Ever

I used the Dove DermaCare Scalp Invigorating Mint 2in1. I was so excited when I received this because my scalp gets a little dry and itchy in the winter. After the first time I used the shampoo I was very disappointed but I thought I would keep trying it to be able to give a honest opinion. I used this product for at least 3 days a week for all most two weeks. I can honestly say my opinion hasn't changed if anything it only made it worse. To me the smell was awful. It didn't smell anything like mint. I have thick curly hair and this shampoo made my hair so dry and tangled that my fingers would get stuck when I would rinse the shampoo out. It stripped my hair of moisture, leaving me with dull, rough-looking hair. It also made my hair impossible to style afterwards. After all most 2 weeks of using this product I had to stop due to my hair being super dry and frizzy. This has to be one of the worst shampoos I have ever used. I wouldn't recommend this product to my worse enemy. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

On the fence

Ive used Dove hair care products before and im a huge fan so i expected to like this one too but im a bit unsure. It doesnt smell like mint - unfortunately. Theres really very little scent at all. Like with all Dove products you only need a tiny amount as it lathers really well. The issue i have found is it leaves residue. I notice it when i rinse my hair that the textures off. Not by much. But it feels different. The same thing applies once ive dried also. It feels flatter, heavier and a little greasier than normal. Again not by much but just enough to make me unsure. Before getting this product i think its beneficial to know that it can add buildup to your hair. I have had to purchase clarifying products to help with this. My sisters has noticed the change in my hair and commented how it looked different. I think ive convinced her to try the product. Her hair is much different than mine and im curious if she has different results. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Not In Love

First the name! If something is named Invigorating, it needs to at least provide something. There was no cool fresh feeling or tingle at all. Just a normal shampoo experience. Very disappointed in that sense. My Husbands review: My husband tends to have a dry scalp that can cause flaking. He is a Head and Shoulders user. He thought is was okay, but did not feel like it had a cooling or refreshing feeling. Also he felt like it made his flakiness worse. Pros: he liked the sent and said it made his hair feel soft. My Review: I have very long hair and tend to easily get buildup, but no dandruff issues. Cons: I felt it left my hair not feeling clean and very tangled. Also my hair did not style well after using this product. Pros: The smell was nice Overall, If you have dandruff due to dry scalp this product in our experience dose not work well and also disappoints in being invigorating. but if you are someone who has normal middle of the road hair and likes a 2 in 1 that smells nice, this may work for you. Not so minty, not so invigorating

I have really thick long hair so I jump on any opportunity to try a product that helps wrangle my locks into something manageable. I love the idea of a 2-1 as it saves time (big benefit!) and this shampoo was thick and creamy like a twofer should be. It did apply onto the scalp a little heavy but frothed up nicely and rinsed out without making my hair feel heavy. The conditioning of my hair didn't quite meet my hopefulness of super soft and sleek, but as I mentioned I have quite a thick mane. The scent was what really brought this shampoo down for me. There isn't even a trace of mint scent. I was hopeful to get a 'mint' tingle on my scalp at the very least, but no. Didn't really feel the mint or invigorating descriptors as advertised. As a woman, I felt this scent was masculine with a synthetic perfumy feel. My hubby tried this shampoo and he seems slightly more satisfied with it than I am. All in all, this guy gets a 2/5 from me.
