Brilliant performance...
So, the reason I'm reviewing this is mostly because I have found one thing that annoys the jeepers out of me... And that is the placement of the camera. Ok, sure, it makes the screen seem bigger as there is the thick bar (bezel) down the bottom instead of up the top... BUT this then brings disaster upon anyone wanting to record or take photos. Because the camera is located down the bottom, it essentially looks up your nose when youre viewing the screen. You cant just sit it in front of you at a regular desk and be using the keyboard at the same time as the camera as nearly a quarter of the screen is taken up by an unsightly hand - and I dont have the largest hands either. While it seems to look sleek, it's a terrible design for camera placement - sorry.

Unreliable
My XPS 15 is 18 months old. During the warranty period it functioned fine except I would occasionally experience screen flicker which would disappear if I re-booted. After expiry of the warranty, at about 13 months old, the screen flicker became worse and would often result in a completely blank screen. This sometimes caused the laptop to shut down and re-boot. Updating BIOS made no difference. At about 15 months old a Windows update plus a BIOS update seemed to fix the screen flicker and black out problem but it recurred about a month later and still persists today. After 15 months the trackpad started protruding from its housing and today protrudes about 1 cm so the laptop cannot be closed fully. After 17 months, the battery would no longer charge. I am unable to change the battery as I and a local Dell technician are unable to unscrew the laptop base. Two of the screws are absolutely impossible to release! Because the battery is fully discharged, I am unable to update to latest BIOS as, according to the on screen message, I need at least 10% battery charge to do this. I have owned 6 or 7 laptops in the last 25 yearts and this has been the most unreliable (and most expensive!) laptop I have ever owned. First impressions on using the laptop were good, especially the screen resolution. However, a number of apps I use are not written to display properly at the maximum resolution.

The Best Windows Laptop (2017)

Simply amazing.

I'm an architect, so I do a lot of 3D modelling, Photoshopping and Video editing (vlog), with some gaming (GTA V, Minecraft, World of Tanks). I have a powerful desktop at home, but I travel a lot so I needed a powerful yet portable machine to help me with my tasks. Dell XPS is the perfect machine for this!!! It chews through anything I throw at it. The screen is just amazing (I have the 4k version), it still excites me everytime I open it.

Some people had problems with screen flickers, coil whine, wireless adapter etc. So far my machine runs without any problems.

Dell XPS 15 9560

The general computer all round is a perfect machine but for a product to be priced what it is the speakers feel the worst of quality and it shouldn't be on this machine when you max the volume out you get a distorted tinny noise and it is very unpleasant. But also if you use headphones or a external speaker system you will be fine.

Great MacBook Pro replacement

The XPS 15 4K screen is truly amazing! It's also fast and very well built and importantly it has both USB-C and USB 3 ports. It can handle 4k video easily. It's an enjoyable laptop to use and I no longer bother with using my external monitor because the screen is so nice.

The only things I don't like are the average quality speakers and I have had some driver issues with the audio jack not working which Dell Support helped me fix. Windows 10 is not perfect but is much better than I expected. It's been 3 months and so far and I'm glad I have made the switch from being a mac user.

I hope Dell keeps refining the XPS as there are few PRO laptops worth buying.

Love this Laptop!

Saved for just over a year for the 9550 and was so excited when the 9560 was announced, just recently received it and have been loving this laptop! Would definitely recommend to others. Nearly perfect, but I think as things are updated this laptop will come out shining. Thank you Dell!

The Bees Knees

This laptop provides top tier performance, the build quality is great, and all the hardware is very well supported by linux. I literally couldn't be happier with it

Fantastic laptop with minor flaws

Overall a great machine, impressive that such a thin, light laptop houses a GTX1050 and can actually make use of it without overheating. The preinstalled copy of Windows 10 came with a surprising lack of bloatware. Thus far the trackpad and keyboard have been comfortable to work with, and the display is excellent. Webcam placement is slightly bizarre, but is a small price to pay for keeping the laptop's footprint so small. The hardware list speaks for itself.

My only complaint is a near-constant coil whine when the machine is working any harder than idle. After much searching it seems that this is a common complaint and one which Dell are not concerned about. It is understandable that the interior of an ultrabook is less well insulated than a heavier, bulkier laptop, but I would have expected that for such a high-end machine, Dell would have found a way to prevent this. While normally a small annoyance, this noise is incredibly distracting when trying to work in a very quiet environment. Had I known about this problem beforehand, while it may not have stopped me buying the XPS, it certainly would have prompted me to give much more consideration to the competition.

Great but not usable for business travelers

I've have made the switch from Surface Pro 3 to XPS 15. The large screen and performances were the attractive points.

The XPS performances are great but unfortunately DELL is still delivering it with sub part components around the eye catchers specs : great CPU, great Video card but comes with a Killer wireless card which cannot connect to AC networks reliably (to connect to most of ac network you need to restrict is mode to AC only) which is a no no if you are traveling a lot.

so great and ... so useless if you can't connect to internet on the go....

Recommended if it stay in one place and you control you network settings (Channels, bandwidth, etc...) otherwise disappointing.
