G3 17

I have nothing bad to say about it really. The only thing that's weird to me is while unplugged, even with maximum performance settings for the battery, games don't run very well. Plugged in however it easily out does my old Alienware 15 (2015). Most games on ultra settings never go below 30fps. The laptop is plastic, but solid. It doesn't feel easily breakable even though its pretty slim. Having a gaming laptop with this performance, that's this slim, and not insanely expensive is great.

Dell G3 review

Okay, nice plain understated design, not garish red and black and multi coloured lights, which is great as I'm an electrical engineer and have to whip out my laptop for meetings. Fans are a bit loud, it's worrying how little air vent area there is allocated though. Keyboard feels just right, I mostly do cad and reports, bit of gaming when the boss ain't looking. I'm a bit blind so can't really judge the screen all too well. Do I get a free 8Gb so-dimm ram module for this lovely review :-D please? hahaha nice laptop, great price, for the cheapie engineer who likes to play boring games like war thunder and racing sims

Good laptop

Overall, I like this laptop. But, I have run into an issue with it playing a specific game (playing games is why I got this device). Although I haven't finished installing everything I plan to play on this laptop, when I did install Destiny 2, it is pretty unplayable. Due to the dual video card configuration, the game attempts to launch but only displays a black window. I have discovered a way to make the game display, but those are hoops that I shouldn't have to jump through, just to play a game. We'll see if I have this issue with any other games, but right now that's the only one.

2018 Dell G3

Overall its a descent at best laptop .its a entry level laptop designed for gaming and basic use . Now here's why I give it 3 stars the gaming overall runs well but the laptop does get hot really quick not enough to shut the pc down but u will here the fans and the keyboard does get warm after a bit of use around 1 hour . The screen overall is not that bad but if u want the upgraded screen u need to go into the g5 and up .The keys feel solid but I find myself slipping keys when gaming since they are very shallow. the overall performance of the machine runs really well with the 8th gen I-5 . So if your looking at a casual machine to play on the go its functional but if your looking for extensive gaming on it I would go into the higher end machines probably build for heat and such . Would I recommend this unit only for the casual gamer, defiantly not for a extensive gamer If you use it for school and such its a great pc .

G3 Experience

I have really enjoyed the performance of this machine. I have the I-7 8850 with the NVIDIA 1050ti. I have an AlienWare 13 R3 as well, and build qualities are not comparable. The AlienWare's build quality is great and the G3 struggles to compete with this device in this area, but the price is much better than the AW 13 R3. The performance is very comparable. I have played several Triple A games on max settings with little to no drop in framerate. I have only 1 concern about this PC. I worry about the longevity on the device because of how hot it runs. I have purchased a laptop fan to ensure the device stays cool. I am of the mindset, that if the device runs hot, the longevity of the product will be greatly reduced. Find a way to keep it cooler, and I would rate it 5 stars hands down.

DEll G3 3779

Laptop seems to be great. On the specs. it stated that memory can be up graded to 32 gigs , what they do not tell you is you need to buy 2 more 16 gig memory cards for in the specs. it say 2 slots with one still not used , untrue. 2 8 gig cards are used forcing you to buy 2 16 cards to get to the 32and then trow away your 2 8 gig cards. I do not see this should be being it is up graded or can be to 32 , I feel Dell should and as stated put one 16 card in and one open slot. Just makes the buyer spend more than needed.

Its OK

My only problem is the delay with clicking on my mousepad as well as other external mice. I went online to fix the first issue which was my right mouse button and it worked. Then the problem rather shifted to my left mouse button. I now have to wait for like 4-8 seconds for a file to open and I do not want to find out how it will affect me when I'm gaming. If you can help in anyway it'll be appreciated.

Crash, Crash, Crash

So, most will think I am running some gigantic software, a game or something that devours resources, but sadly, I am just running Picasa and Open Office along with the Opera browser. From transferring Facebook Notes from Facebook to Open Office, this laptop freezes several times a day. Once this project is over, either Dell fixes or replaces this lame computer, or I never use another Dell again.

Unstable system that crashes and has horrible disk performance

I keep reinstalling to factory but it still constantly freezes or stops working on second monitor. The IO is serial apparently so if you are writing to the c drive all d drive IO stops almost. I want to like it so badly but it just doesn't work.

Keeps crashing

Randomly crashes, with blue screen of death (DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE and VIDEO DXGKRNL FATAL ERROR). Also sometimes when you turn the laptop on or restart it the Dell logo stays on the screen for about 10 minutes and the laptop is unresponsive. I am sorry that I bought this Dell laptop and I cannot recommend Dell products after this experience and I may seek my money back and buy a different brand!
