I shopped all the online computer retail outlets for 4 months before settling on this unit.  No one had all the features I wanted for less than $1700.  This unit had the most features I wanted at a great price.  I have no complaints at all to date & am thrilled with my purchase.

Very happy with this laptop. My only change to it was to max out the RAM. Having enough RAM was key. It felt like it was bound up response-wise with just the 8GB. I probably could have just put in a 16GB stick and be done with it. Otherwise a very happy camper.

Works just fine for me...

I've had this computer for about a month and love it.  It's the fastest and best computer I've ever used.  I needed a fast computer for editing photos and videos (one with a separate graphics processor) and this was a great choice. I almost bought a desktop but decided to take a chance on a gaming laptop. This computer rocks!  I can get a lot of work done and feel that even when using office programs it's faster and more productive as well.   I have a lightweight computer for general web surfing and carrying around at restaurants.  This has the power of a desktop computer and with 17 inch screen you can work comfortably and of course can still plug in a second monitor for dual screen.

The SSD makes starting and restarting very fast.  The large IPS monitor provides accurate colors and brightness at most any angle which is absolutely critical when editing photos or videos. Yes, it's a bit bulkier than the super slim laptops out there these days but I'm not taking it on a bus or train, mostly sitting on my desk and I would rather have the speed that this provides.

I'd recommend you do a few things after you get it: 1) Manually run the Windows 10 updater and expect it to take an hour or two  to do all the updates and know that the screen will blank and restart during the process, don't panic, that's normal for big Windows  updates..  2) Create a restore point for the C: drive and be sure to turn on system protection (same tab) for the C: drive. 3) If you use an external  keyboard or mouse or drawing tablet, plug it directly into the computer's and not through a hub.

Bottoms line, buy this fantastic  computer if power, performance, and large screen are more important than portability.

I bought this laptop a few weeks back and happy with it so far.  I only buy 17" laptops because I prefer a big screen and an i7 processor is a must.  Most of the time I have to upgrade to an SSD, but this one already came with one, so it's plenty fast.  Comes with a pretty good graphics card and I'm liking it.  It was on sale for $799 when I bought it and not complaining about that price.  It was the best bang for the buck that I could find at the time.  It is replacing my aging Dell 17R with similar hardware.
