I decided on this monitor after I had a computer specialist look into some of the best monitors for me. After thoroughly looking at several monitors, this one was decided upon. I assumed it to be slightly smaller so when I saw the size of it, I was initially shocked. However, it does not deter me from being happy with the monitor overall. It's definitely light weight and the screen is thin and in no way bulky. The reload rate on the frames are superb. So if you play those games that take up a lot of memory, you know how they can sometimes make your game/ computer slow down. This does the opposite. I currently have this attached to a laptop that prior to this monitor was super slow. Now, not so more. The screen quality is also wonderful. I have had many comment's on this monitor. I recommend this item highly to anyone who loves to game. Just make sure you have a decent sized desk because a small desk will make the monitor look gigantic and over the top.
Monitor is great for the price, hard to find a 144Hz 27" monitor with Freesync/Gsync in this price range. Yes Nvidia Gsync works great with DP cable. When setting up you need Display Port for 144hz. When connected for the 1st time make sure you enable FreeSync via monitors OSD then proceed to switch monitor from 60hz to FrreSync/Gsync 144hz via the windows display properties. While in OSD turn on overdrive it helps minimize ghosting effect. Set the monitor to standard color scheme, then use Nvidia Control Panel or AMD driver control panel to adjust the colors. With some tinkering of OSD
It's nice.. Good picture and quality. If you are buying this because of the 144 Hz ability, make sure your graphics card supports 144 Hz. Otherwise you will be buying this for nothing. Or at least you will be buying it and then having to spend another 300 to 800 hundred dollars for a graphics card that will do the job.. lots of computers will support up to 120 Hz for computers a few years old but still require a decent graphics card. With the CPU itself if you are buying this monitor for gaming then make sure you have at least i5 or better. also make sure your graphics card supports the newer sync modes. many older graphics cards will not support this function. So it's obviously a nice monitor for the money and i have had more success with the 144 Hz.. more frames = smoooth and more enjoyable live gaming. No lags here :) but make sure you have good internet good router and up to date computer, if you don't have you could buy a cheap 60 Hz monitor and expect the same performance as this one.
Pretty dumb that this monitor is advertised as a gaming monitor with AMD Freesync technology. Too bad you can only take advantage with a DisplayPort cable as it is not supported by HDMI 2.0. Low and behold this monitor only comes with a HDMI cable, so tack on the price of a DP cable if you want to take advantage of it. Overall impression now that I bought this for someone else. Meh...…….its a monitor, there are similar options that come with the right stuff to take advantage of the features for less.
