I bought this washer a few days ago. Have used it several times, and it has worked great. It has 4 different wash selections, for different soil level of clothes, and 4 water levels as well. There is also a function selection button that allows the different cycles (wash, soak, rinse, and spin) to be used separately. The hook up to a faucet was simple. There are hot and cold connections on the back of the washer, though if hooked up to a sink the user can control the water temp. manually. I have washed 4 pairs of jeans in one load. Another load it handled a queen sized sheet and 2 towels no problem. Have not put the wheels on it, so cannot say much about how it rolls. On a solid floor I have not noticed any excessive wobble while spinning. So far I think this is a great washing machine.

great small washer
Great for cloth diapers
I purchased this washer because I live in an apartment and was tired of hauling cloth diapers back and forth and spending a ton at the laundromat. After 3 months of heavy use, I still LOVE it. Sure, it's tiny. A full load is 3 pr of jeans, or 4 days worth of shirts, socks, & underwear. Or in my case, 2-3 days worth of cloth diapers. But it cleans effectively, has multiple cycle options, and hooks up to a standard bathroom faucet & sink drain. My only real complaint is that it drains automatically if you put the drain hose below the level of the water in it. So the first time I used it, before I put the rubber band around the fill hose to attach the drain hose, it slid out of my sink & flooded my bathroom. And again when my curious crawler got away from me and pulled the drain hose loose from the rubber band, it flooded my bathroom. You cannot drain it into the bathtub, only into a sink because of the height.
It is awesome! I bought it mainly for my kids clothes, and it turned out perfect for that porpoise. It is real easy to use. My 12 year old washes his own clothes now. It did get to me with a couple of dents from (what I am guessing) the shipment, but it was no big deal, it works good. My 12 year old can wash about two outfits at a time, my 6 year old about 4 outfits, and me and dad can fit about four shirts, or two pairs of pants in one wash, and underwear and socks, you can fit a weeks worth at a time per adult or for both kids. The connecting part is a breeze, no hard work at all. Well I hope you enjoy this product just the way we have.
nice portable washer for apartment
this is a great little washer, quick hookup, to kitchen faucet, plug it in, set controls to your desires and go..when youre done just unplug power and hose clamp and roll it away. coaster came with it so to make moving easier on tile floor, may have difficult on carpet.like the control panel you adjust the water height, also you can repeat the wash cycle, even the spin cycle. im really happy to have purchased this item. got it a week earlier than schedule. service was smooth and fast.. no more laundry mats for me...yea!!
Just started using this washer. I like the agitator. That is the reason I chose this over others. It is very quiet. It holds a good amount of wash. I'm very happy with it so far. I like the convenience of staying in my condo and not having to go in the basement to wash. I may get a small dryer too. but it spins so well the clothes dry quickly hanging on a foldable plastic dryer I have. For my needs it is just fitting. I feel it could serve a number of people if they had no room for a larger machine. It washes thoroughly and quickly.
Happy with purchase
This is the second time I have offered a review online. I hope this information will be helpful to someone like myself that desires more info on this item that was not available from just user reviews & manuals. Prior to purchase I did a significant amount of research, wading through the reviews on several makes & models of similar types of compact washers. My conclusion was this size & brand of washer met several points that where important in my decision process. a) has both Hot & Cold waterline connections, or just a cold option should you prefer. b) has an agitator. c) decent warranty. d) optional 3 year extended service plan with Wal-Mart. e) ship to store, just in case there were any issues with damage. f) overall good reviews. After unpacking unit at home, a couple of small dents were discovered on one side, that were undetectable at the store due to the packing material. As a courtesy I did notify Wal-Mart of the damage. They responded quickly and provided an unsolicited small price adjustment that was not expected, however much appreciated. Operations Manual is simple enough for installation & connection options. The manual layout for operation of buttons and related functions could be greatly improved, however the machine was very easy to operate once reviewed and understood. Wash times vary depending on which of the 4 wash options you select. The manual does not provide the total time from start to finish of the 4 wash options, however this is what I experienced. Hard wash is 1 hour 15 minutes, Normal wash 55 minutes, Gentle wash 45 minutes, Quick wash 34 minutes. All options include a preset timed soak feature that incorporates brief agitations throughout the soak time, then a constant preset timed wash/agitation cycle prior to the preset timed rinse & spin cycles. All wash options worked exceptionally well. This unit has 4 water level options that is another great feature. You can easily locate the manual online to read more specifics. The unit chimes on completion, which is another nice feature. After 10 uses without any issues, as for now I am very happy with the overall performance of the washer. My next hope is that it will last for several years.
Danby is legit ...
This is MUCH better than the Haier 1 cubic foot, which rattled and leaked like a sinking ship. I've only used the Danby for a week, but so far so good. Holds a set of sheets, get clothes clean, and so far doesn't leak. Relatively quiet - but still not "whisper quiet," so expect some noise - but not much.
Good solid purchase. There is a hidden fabric softener dispenser on the rim of the tub, but it is hard to get to and hard to pour the softener into. I wish they had designed that a little better. Seems to be built well and has an agitator and a stainless steel tub, both of which are pretty rare these days. I had a 1.7 Haier agitator machine before this one and it could hold significantly more clothes (14lbs), not sure why as the cubic feet capacity is supposedly the same. The tub seems smaller and does not fill as high with water, even on the large load setting. I could wash 3 sets of cotton sheets in the other and there would be about 2" of water on top of the clothes. In this one, 2 sets of sheets and the sheets are above the water. Takes more time with smaller loads, but cleans well and spins better.
Getting use to it.
It came with little dents, but I kept it. The casters are too far from the front,so when I pull it out of the closet it lunges forward, so I grab the inside rim of the washer until I get it far enough out to push, and turn it around and lined up with the sink. I am not use to a separate drain hose,so I took the hint from another owner on line to tie it to the water hose. tip, better weight the drain hose down with something,I used a 10 inch piece of a noodle used for kids swimming, its foam rubber but works. The drain hose is too short and light weight to stay in the sink, facing down,so it don't spray the kitchen. It is very quiet, and washes good.no place for fabric softeners,I haven't found a lint trap yet It's not my first portable washer, ,
the two washers I receved didn't work
I ordered the Danby1.7 one month ago. The first washer arrived all dented, scratches all over and red spots in one side. I just received the second washer it have a big dent in one side and a big scratch it does not work either. I don't know what Walmart does with the washers before they deliver them.
