    Great Rod For The Money

The Daiwa Beefstick is a decent rod for its price. I use it to go after larger size catfish only. For regular size catfishing though I would recommend a different rod such as the shakespeare ugly stik tiger as this rod would just be an overkill. The rod has little if no bend and imho would be just fine for use in small saltwater fishing situtations thanks to its stainless steel guides. This rod is not as good as the shakespeare ugly stik tiger rod for catfishing but at almost half its price it is well worth the money. My only complaint about the rod is that all but the first and last guides on the rod are the same size. I mean how much more would it cost to make different size guides? It may look a little weird but from my experience so far it does not effect its performance in any way. I am completely sure that this rod could handle any freshwater fish that you can hook into and for thirty dollars this rod is well worth the money.

    nice thick and heavy rod

was looking for a heavy rod to put my shakespeare tidewater reel on and this did the trick. The rod is thick and heavy so breaking it should not be an issue
