When I forked over $42 for a 500 watt amp, I expected this little blue box to go up in smoke the second I cranked it. So far (3 weeks) it has been surprisingly reliable. The only complaint I can come up with is that it is WAY overrated in terms of power. The owners manual says it can put out 150 watts bridged at 4 ohms. I measured it with a multimeter and test tones. Even with cooling fans added it can only put out about 100 watts bridged at 4 ohms before beginning to overheat. The manual doesn't specify if it is 2 ohm stable, and I don't want to push it. If you want a true 500 watts for a sub, get a good quality class D amp. If you just want 80 watts for some cheap bump in your trunk, this is a great option. It does draw about 200 watts peak and generates a lot of heat, so make sure it gets plenty of air.
